but telling someone to "fuck off" in response is suddenly a horrible thing? technically the one who provoked it should be punished, what is with riot's double standard here?

You will never be punished for saying “fuck off” once to anyone.

because they expect you to be a good robot servant and quietly collect your rage until one day you will cause something horrible yet somehow its your fault they have 0 accountability despite reinforcing that horrible standard.

How would you know the person dodged punishment? No notice? Those are rare to prevent trophy hunting. He's still playing? Chat restrictions don't prevent him from playing.

If I'm in a game with some who is verbally abusive, I will report him. If the victim ignores it and keeps playing, I will probably give him a Tiltproof honor. If he turns around and retaliates, at that point, he is no longer a victim, and will be reported along side the instigator.

Btw: I do not consider telling someone to stop retaliation, even if they use an f-bomb.

These boards are completely full of folks complaining about being banned for verbally antagonistic chat.

Why would you tell this to someone when you have ,,mute “ option and ,,report” option. You can type leave it insted of f off and if they continue- mute them. No need for typing bad words to stupid people, be wiser 🥳
