The Punishment System Is Incredibly Outdated

League punishment system has always puzzled me. It's a company with almost unlimited resources, yet they have by far the worst punishment system in the industry.

If someone says bad words, stop them from saying bad words. If someone runs it down mid in ranked, stop them from running it down mid in ranked. If someone hacks the game, stop them from hacking the game.

I feel like it's pretty simple - stop the behavior that you're banning them for. Perma banning someone from playing the game entirely doesn't really make sense when all they did is say bad words in chat. They should either get a chat restriction or get a perma-chat-ban.

What are you thoughts on the system in general and compared to other games?

They do.

get a perma-chat-ban.

Makes them a liability to their team and just causes them to troll in other ways. Better for everyone else to just permban them, because someone so toxic they get that far is worthless to the game and probably in general.

Yeah, no. That actually helps hackers. Look up the logic behind banwaves.

Turns out they get banned for it, if it can actually be detected. It is really hard for a computer to tell the difference between inting and a bad player having a bad game. You may say "0/9 is obviously inting.." but there are plenty of players so fucking awful/impaired/drunk/young/whatever that going 0/9 by 10 is just a normal game for them, and are debatably making an effort.
