@Riot, Can I get banned for using a program that changes the skins? (Skin Mod Professional)

That's it. I want to get it so I can try skins/stuff before buying them, or just for the customs, but I'm afraid to get ban if I use them. I know Riot doesn't get along with third party programs, but, as far as I know, they haven't banned that program, Skin Mod Professional, and also, and yet again, as far as I know Skin Mod Professional does not script, it just changes the skins (ugh) I have been looking, they are talking that programs such as MKlol is now banneable, but... Here they dont say anything about this, so I dont know what to do

Please, can someone clarify this?

Also, sorry, my english is not the best

Thank you

For trying out official skins: Definently don't.

For using custom skins: Use at own risk. Riot isn't trying to target you, but can't help it if their system bans you for it.

To stay on the safe side: Don't use it at all.

Changes the skin for just what you see or actually changes the skin in game? I know I've seen sirhcez and trick use custom skins but only shows for them. They duo a few times and going to the other guy's stream youd just see a normal Nasus but on sirhcez stream he'd show up as a pimp Nasus for example

I wouldnt do it...I mean you have I believe 3 Refunds per season so use that if you really dont like the skin... Except theres plenty of gameplay videos on all skins on youtube!

yes it's possible to get banned for using such programs. It falls within the scope of 3rd party programs that modify the game / mess with the game files.

Just make a PBE account, then you can try skins for free. Also youtube skin spotlights are great for determining if you will like skins.

This is why they should allow skins to be used in the practice tool so you can see a skin before you get it to use

afaik custom skins dont even work anymore. I used to use one to make heimer look like he did pre-VU

edit: apparently they work again now. So in my experience I used the heimer stuff for a little under a year with no problem, and a long time ago Riots official stance was "why would we ban for that?" but it may have changed since.

I hope you get an official response as id like to go back to using the original Piltover Customs again but not enough to have my account banned over it. http://img.modskinpro.com/upload/image__20160624_1.jpg

You can use tools that will swap files/data of said skins with the ones you want that a fan made. As long as you're not using a tool that commits to having an advantage over other players or modifying the games data to benefit your game play then you should be fine. Creative skins usually fall within typical guide lines of animations and poly range ect ect since they're using the the same model but re skinned so there's no unfair advantage.

Trying to view/use official skins without buying them or getting them through Riot can get your account banned.

Programs to make/use custom (nonRiot) skins are considered "Use at your own risk". They are all, technically, 3rd party programs even if some are generally considered safe. Last I heard, Wooxy it considered a good one, but you need to be aware that changes to Riot's client or changes viewer makes to keep up may cause a "safe" program to trigger Riot's 3rd party detection. And there some viewers that add scrips or other types of interactions that are or look like cheating.

You may get a more defined answer if you submit a ticket via Player Support and ask them directly. They are pretty quick to reply.

It's an odd stance, even if I don't think anyone has been ever banned from locally changing skins, Riot's stance is that they don't support this, and since it's a 3rd party software it means you're threading into dangerous territory.
