Being permanently banned for "toxicity" is unjust

This is just my opinion. I have been permanently banned from League after playing for years, spending hundreds of dollars and hours on this game, and I think that's completely unfair. I realize that Riot is trying to be serious about reforming players, but there are better ways to do so. However, the reality is that in any competitive multiplayer game there will be some people who talk smack. Now, I have never been racist or used hate speech, or told someone to kill themselves, which are things I see other players do on a daily basis. My "toxicity" has only ever been directed at players who rage and stand on the fountain instead of playing, or who use hate speech like "n****r" and "fa**ot." So why do I lose out on all the money I've spent on champions and skins just because Riot doesn't like my attitude? It isn't right. Ban me for three months or something, but banning me permanently is unfair to me and honestly just causes the company to lose out on my business. A lot of people would use the excuse of "well, you had temporary chat bans leading up to this so you should have known," but in my opinion you can't jump from a 2-week ban to a simply flat-out permanent ban. Now I can never access the things I PAID FOR. To be honest, it should be illegal. Any other service that someone pumps hundreds of dollars into and then is denied access to would be a case worthy or suing. Obviously I'm not dumb enough to sue Riot but I definitely believe that what they are doing is wrong. It would be one thing if this actually made a difference, but the community in League is just as toxic, racist and homophobic as ever. These bans have done nothing to change player behaviors in a general sense over the years. There is still a toxic player or five in 100% of my matches. Anyway, in conclusion, I obviously will never be playing this game again, because making a new account and leveling to 30 takes too long and Riot has shown me that they don't appreciate how much support and business I've given them over the years. It's actually their loss, because I spent an average of $35-$50 a month on this game and that's just revenue they no longer have. Not a good business model. Awwww, look its that video again :-)

but in my opinion you can't jump from a 2-week ban to a simply flat-out permanent ban.

Your opinion in this regard doesn't matter. The rules what can and can't be done are made by Riot, not by you.

Now I can never access the things I PAID FOR. To be honest, it should be illegal.

No, it really shouldn't, because you didn't buy goods, you paid for a service, under a TERMS OF SERVICE AGREEMENT which you agreed to, which says, among other things, that the service provider can take away access to their service under certain conditions...such as being toxic in their game.

Just to clarify something here, there is a fundamental difference between buying goods and paying for a service. In the former, there is a change of ownership of something. In the latter, there is not.

Obviously I'm not dumb enough to sue Riot

Good, because that would be fruitless effort. Read the terms of service if you want to, but I can give you the short version: Riot owns your account, they own all the accounts. They are THEIR PROPERTY, and they can do with them whatever they want.

And yes, you agreed to that, otherwise, you would not have been able to start the game.

It's actually their loss, because I spent an average of $35-$50 a month on this game and that's just revenue they no longer have. Not a good business model.

On the contrary, its a very good business model.

If they leave toxic people in their game, they will ruin dozens of peoples games each day. Many of those people will stop playing alltogether, almost all will have less incentive to invest money into a game where they are confronted with toxic behaviour all the time.

The small loss from a few toxic players banned is nothing, compared to the revenue they GAIN by protecting the other players from toxicity.

Permabans come with warnings. If you got permabanned you've got nobody to blame but yourself. Toxicity directed at anyone is still toxicity. If you've gotten warnings before then you should know not to continue this behavior that is getting you in trouble.

I'm sorry but you showed that you were unwilling to learn from your mistakes and therefore earned your permanent ban.

Now, if you didn't get warnings and are able to post chat logs proving you weren't toxic then we have an issue.

It's not really unjust when you agree to lose access to your account if you are overly toxic. You willigly consented to the ToU, but still broke them.

Im not gonna argue if you deserved to get banned or not, but banning toxic people is not unjust.

The argument about money counters itself. Special treatment based on if you have spent money on the game would be, by definition, unjust.

I kinda agree with the statement. Even though you should pay attention to what you say, It must be hard to contain yourself when you're dedicated to the game and someone just throw games with intentional feeding. To be honest, I doubt that any riot staff watches these games, even after multiple reports (don't trust what they tell you, blizzard does the same :p). Everything is automated so someone may ruin many games. When it happens to me ,i don't really care since my toaster pc is way more toxic than any player. But for someone else,I understand why you would be pissed off.

The thing is ,the MOBA genre is toxic. you're stuck with people and one guy can ruin all the fun with ease.you have no choice since if you leave, you can't do shit and get in low priority queue (after some warnings). It's not like a mmo where you can have a restriction for specific instanced content, but you get tons of thing to do ,so you don't care. (but damn ,spending hundreds of dollars for that game..)

Log in to your account and post your chat logs. I can almost guarantee you that regardless of what you claim, you were being toxic.

Riot does not permaban people for simple smack talk such as "lol nice ult bro" said once or twice a game. Riot bans people for continually belittling or berating people, and/or spamming chat with unhelpful comments.

But, until you post your chat logs, we can't actually help identify what you did wrong. If you're unwilling to do so, it's probably because you know what you did wrong and don't want us to see that you're a hypocrite. Your choice.
