riot needs to ramp up that ban time for dodging aram. its AR, people arent suppose to leave for not getting a hero they like. 15 mins are rookie numbers, give it 1 hour instead

I know it's unlikely they'll do this given the amount of effort that they would have to put into something that complex, but it would be interesting to see dodge timers that scale with how often people dodge with those champions.

Your poll, unfortunately, is a bit binary. I have to shamefully admit that there were instances were I dodged because of the champion I ended up with. But in my defence, it's only when I want to play one last game before going to bed, and I keep getting screwed out of awesome champions by other people dodging, only to wind up with some champion I absolutely don't want to play. At least that means I'm not abusing the short dodge timer, given that I just go to bed after something like that happens.

Look, I hate dodging as much as the next person when my team has a really good comp, but let me give you a few reasons why some people dodge on either team:

  • They can't play that champ nor the champs they reroll into. At all. Doing so just results in them feeding. No one wants to trade and no one rerolled anything they're decent at. --Do you really want someone who can't play Azir at all on your team? I really don't. Not everyone is faker, we can't play every single champ.
  • The entire team comp is terrible, no one rerolled anything good/helpful. --A full team of mages/tanks/adcs/melees doesn't always work out. Often times it ends badly, especially for a team of adcs or mages if you can't end the game quick enough.
  • People are being toxic --Not everyone wants to sit through a game of people being toxic to report them. I'd rather screenshot it, then dodge instead of risking to deal with that for the next 10-30 minutes.
  • Something in real life came up. --I know, we're on the internet playing a multiplayer game. How can we have any kind of life?! Some people do. Or they have no life but they have a pet. Or maybe something happened in the family that requires there presence.

Sure, some people dodge just because they don't like the champ they got. But that doesn't mean everyone does, and honestly even if they did it doesn't warrant an hour wait time. Especially not for one dodge.

I've had many times I dodged to avoid a bad a team comp, or because I got Draven and both my rolls were terrible and no one wanted to trade. Heck, I even had a time my sisters rabbit chewed the power cord to my modem. Do either of those situations really deserve an HOUR wait time? Especially for a first offense?

Look, you may think 15 minutes isn't that long, but that time DOES rack up. i got up to I believe 45 minutes one day because I kept getting Draven. That was, if I remember right, just 3 dodges. Nearly an hour wait for just 3 dodges. Would I really need to suffer a 3 hour timer just because of rng giving me Draven?

I think that 15 minutes is pretty reasonable. There have been times where I got champs I wanted to play and then someone dodged. Next time, I got a terrible one. But it balances things out in the long run. People have also dodged games where I got champs I didn't want to play. I think that things need to be done in moderation. You put it at one hour and you're basically telling them. Q for an ARAM game, you cannot leave unless you really have to go out and do something else. One might be discouraged with this and likely not bother with ARAMs, go along with SR instead. Random champs are fun to play short games with but not if you are given an hour long wait time for dodging because of a random champ you ended up with which no one wanted and with 0 rerolls.

What annoys me more is when I get more than 3-4 declines for an ARAM match! Why are these people Q'ing if they didn't want to go in. There was a good 10-15 second window to opt out!

The times are fine. The problem is that the time it takes for dodge tiers to reset is a fucking joke.

A mere day to reset the timer is nothing at all.
