The power of the mute
I just want to say that the mute option I feel is horribly under used in games. I have been doing normal on and off to get back into Summoner's Rift after doing casual ARAMs for a while. Been playing ranked for a week.
I've noticed in ranked, on average, every two matches (so 50% of the time) there are at least one or two horribly toxic players. I mean horrible. Spam pinging, flaming, cursing over their perceived mistakes in your playstyle. Some days I want to just curse them all out. But that as we know literally NEVER accomplishes anything for the match.
Muting people in these matches has sometimes led to a win. And when it doesn't, I don't feel stressed or tense. It's like a weight is lifted. Of course I prefer to win matches, but the loss doesn't impact me mentally or make me angry compared to if I had not muted them.
I understand it can potentially affect "communication" for teamfights (although at this point the toxicity has probably gotten so bad that it still won't be worth it) but I think it's better to be level-headed and focused on your individual play if you have obnoxious teammates.
A lot of drama is solved by the mute feature. I think we need to collectively use it more often.
