Tips and tricks to help keep your cool and not get punished.

So it seems that as per usual in a competitive game, people are constantly finding themselves getting punished for things they dont forsee punishable. So heres some stuff to help you keep cool, and avoid punishments.

  1. Listen to some music that you enjoy. This is probably the easiest and possibly most beneficial thing you can do. It gives your mind something to do so that part of your brain is on something else... which means you will often find yourself paying attention to chat less and focus more on your own gameplay. It helps keep stress down and quite a few people have admitted to playing better with music going.

  2. Not everyone is a pro player, so dont expect them to be. Ive seen this SOOO many times, especially on my smurf accounts. Many times there is people who will rage and complain at someone whos been playing for like 2 weeks about not being able to get perfect farm, react in time to something, or just why they arnt playing like they are some challenger smurf type deal. This is also true for nearly every rank, because they expect everyone to play like a god all the time.

  3. Sometimes a person is actually just outplayed. Just because someone has many deaths, that does not mean they are inting. If they are 4 deaths in at 15 minutes and everyone else on your team has 1 or 2, that does not mean they are inting. If they have 20 deaths at 15 minutes, that is inting. Just because someone is dieing, does NOT mean you get to flame them for ruining your game or whatever self rightious indignations you feel you need to inflict upon them.

  4. There is 0 point what-so-ever for you to flame someone, so dont do it. There is all these wannabe tough guys or whatever that keep going "yeah if i get told im bad and i should just kms, i could care less. Those that report people saying stuff like that are whimps and snitches and should just uninstall if they cant take some commentary" however it is proven that all those commentaries do, is annoy others and make everyone play worse. Yourself, them, and allies. Nobody wants to hear that, it doesnt aid in winning which obviously you were wanting to do otherwise you wouldnt be so upset. It aids in making everyone fight amongst themselves.

  5. Mute and report toxic people. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THEM. If you start argueing with them for 20 minutes, even if you dont say anything toxic yourself, you WILL be punished for adding fuel to the fire. I have seen soooo many of these posts of "why was i punished? I didnt do anything nearly as wrong as they did!" Just mute them, report them, and continue with your day.

  6. Nobody forces you to flame. I have seen all these posts of "they need to add context to these chat reports so that people know i was just defending myself from this person, and they were sooo much worse than i was!" No. You defend yourself by muting them. There is no mind controling effects that make someone do something. You choose to do it, even if it could be grudgingly or willingly. (To those of you who read this and choose to try and argue a point, you know exactly what i mean, so please dont.)

  7. Do some bot games as a break. If you are wanting to play still, but are tired of the toxicity that you might be seeing in normal and ranked games, do some bot games and go completely off the wall crazy with something you feel like trying. Literally you can make anything work in a beginner bot game, so feel free to try out some cool looking stuff like shooting an AP ashe arrow down the lane and teleporting in before it hits. Most people in bot games are fairly nice from what i have noticed.

Hope some of these tips and tricks helps people out. Enjoy!

What Riot wants you to do is not communicate with your team. I have had three 10-game chat restrictions in my life. How I got them to stop is to simply load the game and immediately mute and ping mute everyone on my team. I probably have higher deaths, worse game experience, and lose more matches, but at least I'm not behavior punished.

It came to a head when after my third restriction, I came out of it and was determined to not say anything negative. Game 1 I was reported for being a 2-2 Cait. We got stomped. My support went 0-7. My jungle went 1-7. They both raged at me for not being aggressive enough and urged everyone to report me. Next game I had a teammate leave at lvl 8. I voted to surrender every time the option came up. Muting my teammates who were being toxic, not responding. Post-game lobby? They rage at me and call be a baby for surrendering, urging everyone to report me.

So, OK. Just mute, never engage. Pretend everyone is bots. That's what riot wants.

"You defend yourself by muting them."

So if a dude walks up to you in the street and punches you in the face, what do you do? You don't ignore it and continue with your day, you punch that fucker right back.

Riot's banning and honor system is a complete joke. The only people who get honor rewards are those who say nothing. I've become afraid of using the chat at all, even if it's to encourage my teammates, because I've genuinely been punished for telling my 0/12 top laner "we can win, just stop feeding".

The fact that people lose their accounts just for saying a couple of mean words in chat in ridiculous by itself. Riot wants to create a perfect world where nobody will say a thing wrong to one another, a perfect world that does not and will never exist. This is a highly competitive game, and yet they expect us to be all buddy-buddy all the time. Punishments that restrain you from actually playing the game are a joke. Longer chat restrictions, even month long bans, sure. Permanent bans shouldn't exist unless it's for trolling or intentional feeding.

I'm gonna get downvoted but I frankly could not care less. Permanent bans for toxicity are just Riot's way of leeching more money; because chances are, that person will make a new account and want to buy their skins back. It's so obvious that they exist just for economic purposes.

Ok what about this tho. This is the main reason I get banned in league:

"Miss fortune, youve died 6 times in a row by overextending bot lane without vision, please stop."

0/6 miss fortune ignores what I says and overextends again

Die going 0/7 in 18 minutes

"Miss Fortune seriously dude youre losing us the game"

Then it just goes on from there. Like Ill tell these guys straight up what theyre doing wrong, and they dont listen at all. This is about Gold-Plat elo. I smurf from diamond and lose a lot because of people like this miss fortune ignoring what I say. So what do I do in this situation? I cant just not say anything. Someone is single handily wasting 30 minutes of our time because he doesnt want to listen.

This is what makes me mad. My teammates are trolling me (one says he can't play support, picks Vayne and goes top, the other tries to cheese the enemy botlane, fails and and then just goes mid, leaving me alone) and they won't get punished. I was the only one getting any punishment with my 10 games chat restriction for trying to argue with them.

Now i know that i should never argue with anyone. Just let them do whatever they want to do. But it is so no fun having to 1v2 botlane and not even being able to farm because i get killed everytime i move too far.
