Don't hold your team hostage

Bit of a rant thread here.

I'm guilty of this too so this applies to me.

Holding our teams hostage is a real anger inducing thing to do.

Yes, sometimes we have a bad game, and we want to redeem ourselves, but do it in a new game. Don't force your team to fight a lost cause. It's really frustrating for them and nobody wants to bang their head against a wall.

Other times we were flamed, and although it sucks, I think that we can all admit that having someone go 0/7 or worse is really annoying. We can't wholeheartedly expect people to be 100% positive whilst we're dragging the entire team down. Take the flame with a pinch of salt, likelyhood is, we've done it too.

Once in a while we get that one player we don't like. So we want him to suffer. We want him to get as mad as we are so we can feel better in the heat of the moment. We don't boast about it because we're secretly slightly ashamed of it. Let's not do that anymore!

Keeping players in clearly lost games is extremely frustrating and I would argue that it's borderline toxic behaviour. It's an act of pure selfishness that benefits nobody. It makes people feel helpless and wastes their time, which is as valuable to them as ours is to us.

It's not fair and it's not right, and I'm sorry to anyone I did it to.

I also hope that the rest of us that do this can also stop.

I don't think that this thread will make much of a difference, but it's at least nice to get this off my chest.

sometimes you can turn around unfavorable situations and win... who is the final judge in saying a game is clearly lost? ya know, goonies never say die
