Penalty for Que Dodging

Playing ranked over the past several days I have come across two situations where a player said that they were going to feed. I dodged both ques, note that this takes place over two days. My first punishment is a one minute time, the second is a five minute timer.

The one minute timer is understandable and so is the five minute timer if the dodges where mere hours apart but after a day shouldn't the timer reset.

Riot seems to expect players to behave in a totally irrational way and waste their time, a commodity that should be valued above all else, to play out a game when it is a guaranteed loss instead of just dodging the game and taking the otherwise short timer.

Certainly there must be better solutions to this problem, right?

How about adding a button that allows players to report others for threatening to feed when their pick gets banned that will dodge the game if the other four player all report it?

You wouldn't even have to punish the player if it happened once but if it happened two or three times then maybe a punishment would be in order?

No. There really can't be situations where players have control over matchmaking like this. This kind of thing leads to people looking up stats and then reporting people to get out of games when someone is "bad."

you already can. it called a support ticket. but seeing as you have no proof that they would int/feed the staff cannot do anything about it. if you want to legit report them and actually have it mean something just suck it up and report them post game. plus actions speak louder than words. they could say they'll int but then end up not inting during the gam thus making a supposed pregame report useless. and if you dodge too many times you will eventually get banned.

As I understand it, queue dodge timer does reset at day reset. I will take a guess and say that the timer reset at Win of the Day reset. I can attest that the queue timer does reset because I dodged liberally whenever there's some kind of discord in champ select or I "feel" a troll is coming.

Not a good idea. If no punishment is levied, then if someone gets auto-filled, he will abused it to get out of auto-fill. If punishment is levied, then people will be punished for off-meta picks or virtually any pick the other 4 people don't like or worst case scenario, 4 people gang up on 1 person to force a dodge because the other team have superior team comp or counter-picks or 4-man premade roaming the lobby trolling one poor rando.

more dynamic lenient possibilities should definitely be evaluated within the Riot staff team :)

As a player that mainly plays ranked I have seen these threats occur many times. 9/10 its just a bluff due to their champ getting banned/ picked by enemy, bad match up, perhaps someone on your teams on a losing streak, etc.

1/10 they actually are just trolls, this is easily identified by a quick op.gg and checking their recent games.

Either way if they are trolling the only thing you are losing is one game worth of lp, while on the other hand they lose their account. Think of it like giving a kill for an teammate to get an ace or pentakill.
