Change the report system

Get rid of the automated report system please. Make every report human filled and make the report system much more complex, and punishments much more severe. Ban players via their ip addresses if they are seriously bad players. If a player calls another player an idiot, then apologizes and says they're tilted and that it's best if they mute each other, that player shouldn't be permabanned. But that itty bitty little bit of spite caused will cause the players to report him and he will lose $100-$1,000+ worth of things in his long filled account over a small little squable.

In most games I see the chat function not even used because riots punishment system is way to severe and doesn't do it's job properly. The automated system is obvious and the majority of players tend to be toxic and abuse the system to ban other players. They also fish out words from other players to make sure their reports are validated. Many players will grief other players by taking their farm, following them around, or inting to their laners with shutdowns. The automated system doesn't cover the actual problem of intentional feeding and the attempt to not win the game. The solace of riot staff actually attempting to bring peace to the "toxicity" of league can and will ONLY ever come from the immense crushing defeat of in game griefing and trolling.

To make things also much more simple chat and gameplay should be completely seperated. Gameplay bans should be seperate from chat bans, and permanent chat removal while still allowing players to play would make the game much less toxic.

Remember the Tribunal? That took months to issue a punishments, and that was with a focus only on chat I believe. So bad idea.

Ban players via their ip addresses if they are seriously bad players.

First, IP bans are useless and cause collateral damage. Second, banning a player for being bad is stupid as hell. The punishment for being bad is losing.

If a player calls another player an idiot, then apologizes and says they're tilted and that it's best if they mute each other, that player shouldn't be permabanned.

Let me just say something much worse, apologize, and be gucci. Tilt should never be an excuse.

But that itty bitty little bit of spite caused will cause the players to report him and he will lose $100-$1,000+ worth of things in his long filled account over a small little squable.

It would have to be over multiple "squables" to lose that account. Don't try to pretend you get instant perma'd for one instance of calling someone an idiot.

In most games I see the chat function not even used because riots punishment system is way to severe and doesn't do it's job properly.

Or people just don't have anything to say. Maybe they prefer communicating with pings.

The automated system is obvious and the majority of players tend to be toxic and abuse the system to ban other players.

"A majority of the players tend to be toxic and abuse the system". That is a mighty tall claim. Do you actually have stats for that? Because if you do, a case could actually be made to Riot to change the system. It was designed based on what the community seemed to dislike after all.

They also fish out words from other players to make sure their reports are validated. Many players will grief other players by taking their farm, following them around, or inting to their laners with shutdowns.

If people are actually baiting with things like "i need a 3 letter word for the British slang of cigerret." Then submit a support ticket if punished. Farm doesn't belong to anyone though. If someone is griefing, then report them.

The automated system doesn't cover the actual problem of intentional feeding and the attempt to not win the game. The solace of riot staff actually attempting to bring peace to the "toxicity" of league can and will ONLY ever come from the immense crushing defeat of in game griefing and trolling.

Because it is pretty damn impossible to program something that can detect gameplay violation with even 90% accuracy of not hitting innocent players. Because as I said earlier and with emphasise again, simply being bad at the game is not fucking pynishable outside of losing.

To make things also much more simple chat and gameplay should be completely seperated. Gameplay bans should be seperate from chat bans, and permanent chat removal while still allowing players to play would make the game much less toxic.

Great news! Verbal and Gameplay punishment tracks are already seperate!

Verbal track is this (is possible to skip steps): 10 game chat restriction 25 game chat restriction 14 day ban Perm ban

Gameplay is so: 14 day ban Perm There are a few very specific other gameplay punishments that vary though.

As for your theory of "just remove chat and they can't be toxic" that was apparently proven false already. In the past when people basically had infinite chat restrictions; they would resort to gameplay offenses instead. The true way for someone to not be toxic, is to actually demonstrate self control.

IP Ban? You mean possibly take out a whole dorm or an internet cafe just 'cause someone got IP banned?

All of your points have already been addressed million times, so i'm not gonna do it again

Ah, it's the daily "permanent chat ban" thread.

Not gonna happen, dude. Riot isn't interested in catering to the people who can't play by the rules - they want them to stop playing. If you aren't able to play the game without using chat properly (which, whether you believe it or not, is quite helpful in a team game), then don't play. Riot isn't in the business of catering to toxic players and changing the system to accommodate them, regardless of how much time or money they spent.

You need to understand how very, very, small of a percentage of players get permanently banned. There are tens of millions of the rest of us who don't want to deal with that shit.

Play by the rules or you'll be shown the door.

Bans should be reserved for gameplay related offenses; never for chat related offenses
