Is bait banning real?

Recently while playing a ranked game I came across a dude who said he ints and trolls each game to get people to flame him so he can ban him, and that he isn't the only one. He also said Riot don't care and won't do anything about it.

How much truth is there to what he said?

I mean, that's just called trolling.

A troll is someone who deliberately acts in a way to cause other people to get frustrated, annoyed, etc. A league troll wants you to flip a shit at them because they know Riot is much better at detecting chat offenses than gameplay offenses.

So yes, bait banning is real. It has been a thing for as long as internet interactions have been real and presumably for centuries or millennia before.

You can send a ticket to support, informing them that Player X admitted to trolling during Game Y at Time Z. They'll give a non-committal "hey, thanks for the report", but they DO accept reports of trolling via support ticket.

rofl a lot of truth idk how much troll clubs there are now but a lot of people only do this and only in ranked games, riot can only ban EVERY ACCOUNT THEY MAKE and not really stop them from doing it(again)

soo yeah this is now league of trolls, enjoy!

People do bait for verbal punishments, but Riot does ban the baiters as well.

Hard telling.

  • Can he prove he's not the only one? No...but we cant prove he is either.
  • Is this something that happens? Kind of...riot has a knack on this server for banning people far more on chat than in game behaviors such as trolling. That's not to say the don't care. It's just easier to detect flame than it is to detect trolling.
  • Will he get banned for it? Absolutely. Send in a support ticket with screenshotted evidence of his claims, and they'll get him for sure. They sure as hell don't want another Nubrac/NB3 scandal.

very true. likely that you will be banned for flaming. it's a lot harder to detect inting/trolling. very easy to detect flame.
