Thin Skinned Players

Riot has created a thin skinned, crybaby community. I am tired of this, as a player who is vulgar. Why isn't there a "play with adults" option. We should not be punished for having to deal with thin skinned players. If I call you out on your shit, and you don't want to up your gameplay for the good of the team and I continue to harass you to play properly, I should not be banned or in trouble for reaming out another player. This happens all the time. I'm tired of the thin skin reports that have become a tool for the thin skinned players that people keep getting matched with. I see it all the time. Get your shit together Riot, this is a game of violence and you're allowing players to be troubled by what other players say, and it's ridiculous. Come up with a solution [removed by moderation]

Everyone has bad games, even you. What people don't need is for people to berate them when they have bad games. Anyone can say someone was wrong to do something, or react a certain way, with the benefit of hindsight. You don't achieve anything by pointing out someone's mistake and berating them for it

"Oh I died to Riven, time to die 5 more times in a row and get slammed by my team for feeding riven c:"

If that was standard practice do you know how many people would play this game? A lot less. Ultimately Riot want the playerbase to be as large as possible so they have the largest market to sell their digital wares to, if they have to ban a small minority to keep a large amount of "thin skinned" players in their game, that's what they'll do

And someone isn't thin skinned because they don't want to play a game where the community is crawling with counterproductive toxic players

Adults =/= people harassing other people on the internet over a video game.

The thin skinned people are the ones who do not have the self control to stop themselves from being aggravated into a toxic situation.

Just because one is an adult doesn't mean that they're automatically more mature than kids and teens. In fact I've seen kids and teens act far more mature than those who claim to be adults, meaning that it's not a matter of age but maturity instead. If an "adults only" server was created then how would you go about determining who'd be allowed in it? And how would you go about moderating it to make sure people aren't just using it as an excuse to be a bully and a jerk?

I won't deny that the argument could be made that people should perhaps be more tolerable of poor behavior to not let it get to them as much (though you don't have to take offense to recognize poor behavior), but at the same time if the only way you can deal with not getting your way is by lashing out at others with things like insults and name-calling then quite frankly the thin-skinned one is you. Not putting up with someones poor behavior and holding that person accountable for it is not being thin-skinned, it's called being mature and responsible. Deal with it.

I'm not sure why you think the player base is thin skinned. I'd rather just focus on the game, and when other players are harassing other players, that's distracting to me, if not the rest of the team from focusing on the game. I wouldn't want it in my game; I wouldn't wish that on the enemy team either.

It sounds like you're the thin-skinned one if you get mad at games so easily that you start throwing around insults, lmao

Depends on your "harrassment" if you are calling them something like ohh an idiot for something, or a pussy for running, meh, who cares. If its going in to slurs, thats a whole other line to cross and one that even someone like me wont cross.

I personally think that the current chat system is a bit too strict, coming from counter strike to this is a change that I had to adjust to, but keep in mind that this game is marketed in large to a young audience so it makes sense for the game to limit the trash talking, and also you must account for cultural differences where people f.x. from the uk are a lot more verbally vulgar than loads of people in the surrounding countries might easily be offended by what wouldn't really offend any uk person
