Riot has it ALL WRONG
Let me begin this by informing everyone reading that I am a player who has played 1,200+ games and has seen what the community is capable of. I have recently been perma-banned for a bullshit offense after telling my team to go "cry about an AFK." I was defending a community member and got permanently banned for it.
Now that this pre-story has been told I can get down to the point of this post. Permanent bans vs Permanent mutes. Riot seems to think that permanent bans are the answer to the problem. After I was permanently banned, I created a new account and began to ruin other player's games. I wanted to make their experience so bad that they would hate Riot. If I was to be permanently muted I would simply continue playing, happy that I could not talk to other players and that they could not talk to me. Riot seems to think that permanently banning people will get them to quit when all of my friends who have been banned were so angry that the only thing they wanted to do was make a new account and ruin the game for everyone else. I have had mutes before and they actually weren't bad. I could still communicate through pings which made me an overall better player as it allowed me to communicate faster than typing when I was unmuted.
So I ask you Riot, you intentions seem fine but are permanent bans really the way to go? Or do you truly have it ALL WRONG? I ask you community, would you rather play with trolls or people who can't communicate with you except through the use of pings?
