LoL community stop using the word cancer, AIDS, and suicide

I am so tired of hearing the word cancer, cancerous, AIDS, and people telling each other to go kill yourself if they are playing bad in League of Legends. It bothers me because one of my best friends committed suicide and I know of family members that have died of cancer. I would rather people use the word suck or something other then the words that they are using to express. I don't understand how these words even became part of the gamming community because these represent things that people die from in real life. Is the community really at this point where calling someone bad or they suck not good enough anymore? Does the community really need to resort to words that represent ending someone else life? I have been playing online video games since the mid 90's and people used to respect people more and during this timeframe the abbreviation GL HF was created during the original StarCraft days. Video game community used to be a respectable gaming competition where it was about having fun and wishing good luck in your match. This respectful gaming competition is almost extinct at this point. It's really sad to see this with League of Legends the most competitive game in the world which is why I play it. I play for the competitiveness and strategy. However, I am so tired of hearing toxic speak these days it makes me want to quit not just League of Legends, but video games in general because of how bad its gotten over the years. A big problem with the toxic words coming out of people's mouths does affect you and causes you to start raging as well. This is behavior spreads like a chain reaction throughout the community and needs to stop by the community starting to make a more positive difference. I started by being nice to these flaming people and its interesting how they eventually stop flaming. Instead of pointing out all there mistakes give them complements on what they did right not wrong. Once you say nice things to them then maybe you could give them some constructive criticism in a nice way to help them improve their game. If you want to give someone advice you need to have a blend positive and negative not just pure negative because they respond defensively in a negative way. Come on community lets make a difference and improve the dialogue one game at a time. Also, remember the old saying if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.

You grew up when the community had LAN-parties and actually met face to face. When you played semi-locally with people you grew to know. New generation has grown up anonimous with randos on the internet and with little empathy to the faceless behind the other screen on the other side of the world. Sad but true.

Right, so because you can't handle your bunched up panties, our freedom of expression should be suppressed.

My advice to you? Get over it. There's something offensive for everyone and I'm sick of playing Mr. Perfect Dancin' Robot to accommodate people who can't handle their own shit.

is space aids allowed?

The internet will not stop using aids and cancer as jokes, its considered common language thus riot won't enforce it. Suicide depends on the context of usage.

Telling someone to go kill themselves is definitely not accepted. Calling something cancer or aids is generally accepted and seen as common language especially on the internet. For example, saying that Quinn top lane is cancer when you're playing a melee champ is absolutely fine. We shouldn't restrict that kind of language.

Yup, when I was on LoLKing the other day, I noticed that the Google Adsense thinks that LoL websites are a proper place to put CANCER TREATMENT ADVERTISING.

That is how much this community overuses such a viciously misplaced word.

I don't think its a joke. It definitely isn't common language, as if you use this in your workplace people will look at you and wonder how long it will take for you to be fired. It sure isn't funny. No one ever laughs when someone says "X, Y, Z, are cancer".

All it does is remind people of the close people they've had die to cancer. Which is why you only ever hear youth with no life experience or perspective on reality use the terms.

I've been told to get cancer. I actually may have cancer, but still in the process of getting diagnosed. They don't know whats wrong yet. I've been told "I hope your mom / dad / xyz dies" - guess what, I've watched my dad (and matter of fact many other relatives) die - from cancer.

If anything I hope that these morons don't have to go through any of it themselves because I know how much it sucks and they apparently don't. But then again, I don't really care what some 15 year olds on the internet say. Neither should you.

Can you separate this into some paragraphs? I actually want to read your OP because I also dislike people calling things cancer or cancerous or comparing things to AIDS.

It's just a tad difficult to read in its present state.
