Reporting People For AFK

Okay so am I the only one who reports a player who is afk? Legit had so many games where people go afk or just give up & they don't get reported. This happens a lot when people are premade with friends, or premade in general.

A few things I've come across when it comes to people afking are the following:

  1. They just give up & quit the game usually because a person on our team didn't give them the red/blue buff.
  2. People who give up in the ARAM map & go afk because they have a better team.
  3. Someone has to go eat because parents/or food is ready, whether it be the start of the game or the end of the game where 5v5 is crucial.
  4. When someone says at the beginning of the game " Can we finish this in 20 minutes because I gotta go after that. "
  5. There is some cases where someone randomly just leaves but eventually comes back because power outage/internet messed up/Windows update. (If this is the case it's usually a 50/50 report whether you choose to believe them.)

I have seen cases where someone says "can you report our afk please they RQ" or "can you report our afk in general." Normally anytime I see an afk I always report 10/10 times. I see people on my team say things like "Why would we report a free win?" Also I've seen cases where you ask the enemy team/current team to report the afk & surprise they are a premade so they start lying to try to get you reported.

Imo Riot Games needs to implement a better AFK system that can tell whether someone legit pressed exit/alt f4 vs someone whose internet/power went out. The current system is extremely flawed I actually know someone from another friend that goes afk in almost every game & doesn't come back. They have low priority queue but that's it. When they get in a low priority queue game they still go afk & has done this for awhile to prove a point I assume.

So everyone needs to make a stand! Report players that go afk, whether it be from them RQ, never getting into game, leaving randomly or only afk the last 5-10 minutes of a game. AFK is AFK.

i only report people for afk if they do something like running circles in base or go to baron and execute themselfes every 2min. as riot claims their leaverbuster is able to detect people who run in circles (so i actually shouldnt report that) but i dont know. friend of mine actually leveld a smurf to lv 30 by the "execute every 2min" strat. afk for 119 seconds, at second 120 he goes to baron and dies there. lv 30 never got a leaverbuster.

It's pointless, leaverbuster exists and while it's a shit system it's pretty good at detecting afks, unless they dced 5 minutes before the game ended or something. Besides, why report somebody unless it's blatantly clear that they ragequit? I have issues with my internet quite frequently, so it'll turn off during a game, or I'll get so much lag I simply can't play. And if it's not because of internet, the only time I'll quit a game is because of a real life emergency. Would you report me for these things which are clearly out of my control?

(Before some asswipe comes along and says something along the lines of "don't start ranked if you have bad internet", it's a 50-50 chance. I always run a speedtest, Haste's lag check, and go into a custom game to check if I'll be able to play. I also have multiple anti-lag softwares installed. But sometimes it'll all look fine and dandy until I go into a game.)

There is two existing afk styles:

1: well fuck This is when the players internet/parents/whatever refuses to be on their favor, and they are forced to abandon the match via (Alt-F4, Cmd-Q for macs and hammer for linux) or just the leave match button, this really isn't a problem that the player can deal with, sure they shouldn't be playing around (insert time) or with bad internet, but its not avoidable.

2: well shit This is when the player is still physically present within the game, but refuses to leave base or is running in circles.

yeah. Leavebuster punishes the first, doritos punishes the second.

and before you complain about leavebusters, it gives out punishments after a series of AFKs in a short period of time.
