Riot won’t ban trolls and it’s ruining the game.

Over the past two days I have played 11 aram games and 5 draft games all involving players intentionally feeding. I didn’t harass or say anything to those people but went on to report them for misconduct after the match. Riot has continually done nothing at all about those people 3 of which I have report multiple times now. Since riot refuses to enforce its own rules the game isn’t fun in the slightest. I’m heading back to dota 2 where people flame the hell out of each other but at least they participate or get banned.

Riot absolutely bans trolls. You just need to get your thread on the front page of reddit. Elave only got to ruin like 1000 games as Kench / Anivia for the 100% winrate Master Yi cheese.

Riot doesn't ban them because they don't register a point where "Ok this someone actually trolling and they aren't still in the learning phases" For someone to get banned for feeding, they have to actually verbally mention it in chat or a rioter's attention being caught by someone streaming how they are a professional feeder. Even then they still don't always get caught by it.

Trolls and inters do get banned but because they're getting smarter about how they avoid detection (and because Riot wants to try to avoid punishing innocent players as much as possible) it's harder to catch them in the act compared to simple chat-related offenses. Gameplay related offenses when proven to be on purpose are assigned a 2-week ban as the first punishment. In case you don’t believe me on this point here are some examples of gameplay trolls being banned. Yes it’s just a few examples, but it proves that they do get punished.

They are not banning trolls, griefers and intentional feeders for a couple of simple reasons.

  1. It's hard to detect, laziness, they do not bother to watch the whole game and see what happens, they say that they review every single report etc.. (No they don't.) I actively follow trolls for as long as 3 weeks after reporting them, they continue to play or skip a day or two but never did they get the 14 day ban that they should get as the minimal punishment.

  2. It doesn't pay off , a significant number of players would be punished for a long time, what's easy about verbal abuse is that it takes baby steps often unless you are really saying something you shouldn't, even if the players deserved it, happened to me, I did wrong so I learned. Riot wants their money, and banning people makes it harder to obtain.

  3. Nobody gives a damn about some Korean dude that trolled over 1500 games for 3 seasons in a row, nobody cares about a guy who ints while saying "oh sry guys" "lag" "dc" "my brother took my mouse" "my cat is on fire" and so on. Why? Because they are not streaming, they are not saying "Okay I'll throw from now as payback to Riot permaban" and are not saying something about it in-game. Because unless it's blatantly obvious and you are not a Riot employee, they are not going to be banned for such behaviour.

  4. Trolls, very rarely, are smart They are trying to avoid being super exposed and will not speak in chat unless "sorry, i'm really not trolling" etc. So riot will slap a " THEY JUST HAD A BAD GAME HURR DURR " onto it

_and everything will be A-ok! _

patience, bad deeds do get punished. Plenty of whines and cries in this board proves that point. For some players its not that they are not being punished its just not their time yet. Be patient and continue you cool. The last thing you want is to fall to their ranks, pitty, but the road to righteous is the harder path it seems.
