Justice System is Stupid

So this is from experience so I could be wrong but I'm ranting from what I've seen.

So you're telling me you'll get easily punish from a report for verbal abuse (which is easily understandable) but anyone who literally griefs will not even get a slap in the wrist?

Why is it such a priority to get these people who** just** talks shit to players to be punished compared to the people who

A. Keeps feeding enemies intentionally B. Bans ally's champion for the sole purpose to piss them off for at least 15 minutes of their time C. Plays a champion thats clearly not for their role and to only piss off his teammates for at least 15 minutes of their time D. All-chat the other team about teammates whereabouts E. Never listen to teammates advice for the sole purpose to piss them off F. Waste heals/shields randomly just for the sole purpose to piss teammates off G. Constantly taking adc's cs as a support H. Stealing buffs from others for the sole purpose to piss them off I. Wearing items that wasnt meant for their champions for the sole purpose to piss teammates off

Yeah, I've realized I said the same thing over and over again but it does happen mostly for that reason.

Im just saying there are other ways to piss people off rather than just talking in chat. And yet its not as punishable as calling your teammate stupid for putting up with the bs that they do. Why is that? #videogamedunkey #was #right

Because creating a system to properly and flawless catch most people trolling would be a crapshot. In cases of players who go like "I'm running down mid." and have 0/XX/0 deaths, yeah, the system needs to be better about that, but the average players tends to think everyone who does poorly in their games is griefing. They can't ban people for having bad games, everyone would be banned.

A. Keeps feeding enemies intentionally.

Being bad and inting is hard to define in most cases.

B. Bans ally's champion for the sole purpose to piss them off for at least 15 minutes of their time

Because if you are last pick and want a high priority champion, not being able to ban them would hurt your team.

C. Plays a champion thats clearly not for their role and to only piss off his teammates for at least 15 minutes of their time

Riot doesn't want to force a meta.

D. All-chat the other team about teammates whereabouts

Yeah, needs to be banned.

E. Never listen to teammates advice for the sole purpose to piss them off

How would this even be detectable by any system?

F. Waste heals/shields randomly just for the sole purpose to piss teammates off

Again, see above.

G. Constantly taking adc's cs as a support

Again, hard to showcase a difference of that between being bad and trolling.

H. Stealing buffs from others for the sole purpose to piss them off

Not excusable, but again, hard to nail down.

I. Wearing items that wasnt meant for their champions for the sole purpose to piss teammates off

Who decides that? Sure, getting a tear on Riven is trolling, but would you say getting Zhonya on an ADC is?

Im just saying there are other ways to piss people off rather than just talking in chat. And yet its not as punishable as calling your teammate stupid for putting up with the bs that they do. Why is that? #videogamedunkey #was #right

Because it is easier to catch chat then it is to catch trolling, especially when most players say anyone doing poorly on their team or making mistakes or having a bad game is trolling, but when they do it, will actively blame their teammates.

Minimum punishment for gameplay offenses like griefing is a 14 day ban. Just because you dont witness them getting punished when you see them, doesnt mean its "not as punishable". Thats bad logic. Look around the boards, youll see plenty examples of inters getting banned.

Based on what you are saying, I have a feeling you just don't know how to properly differentiate the people whom are bad.

If they are bad, then they won't get punished no matter how much you rage at them and report them.

Proving intent on poor gameplay behavior is harder to do compared to poor chat behavior. For one you have to make sure they're actually intentionally trolling or whatever and not just having a bad game, playing off meta and/or simply doing something the reporter didn't like. With chat you don't have that issue as it's easier to tell the intent behind someone's words, which is also why chat offenses (with the exception of ZTP violations) start with a 10-game chat restriction as opposed to gameplay offenses (and ZTP violations such as death wishes and racist comments) which start with a 14-day ban. That said, just because someone else is behaving worse doesn't mean your own poor behavior is excused. "They started it/were worse" didn't work in school and doesn't work here either.

Also, using Dunkey to try to support your argument is pretty much admitting defeat since it's a known fact that he lied in his quitting LoL video, which Lyte proved back when he still worked at Riot. To quote Lyte:

What do you think about vgdunkey's ban?

It's really unfortunate. Many Rioters love Dunkey's content, and I've unloaded my share of "Not even close babyyyyy" jokes around the office; however, we really can't show favoritism to someone just because they are a pro or a known content creator. This isn't really a debate about whether trashtalking is OK or not OK in games; we've talked a lot in the past about how we're OK with players bantering with their friends but you should be careful when interacting with strangers who may not understand your intentions--especially if you're using hate speech or slurs. We have a zero tolerance policy against hate speech, racism, homophobia, and sexism and that policy stands whether you're a random player, a pro player, or a Youtube celebrity.

This also really wasn't a case about intentional feeders and whether it's OK to be toxic towards other toxic players--there wasn't even a Malphite in the game that got him banned and either way, retaliation just isn't OK because it makes the experience worse for everyone else in the game.

We know that players have been asking us to be more aggressive against intentional feeders for awhile, and it has taken us a bit longer than we'd like. We do consider gameplay toxicity just as serious as verbal toxicity, and are launching a new Intentional Feeder Detection system in 5.18 that can ban feeders within 15 minutes of matches. We're starting with conservative settings to make sure the system would not ban players for having the rare bad game, even if it was a 0-10 type of bad game but this is a great first step to aggressively tackling intentional feeders.

At the end of the day, this incident sucks for everyone. We respect that Dunkey hasn't posted his Reform Card, and I'm not going to post it either. Best wishes to him in the future.
