Stream linking and etiquette
So the other day, I encountered an enemy player whose name had "Grey Jedi" in it. I say this only because in my tabletop group, one of the other players is a huge Star Wars nerd and HATES the Grey Jedi (story for another time). So out of principle, I prepared myself to give this guy a planetary ass kicking.
When we get in the game itself, he links us to his Twitch stream. I've seen that kind of shit before, and it feels extremely cocky to me, like "Hey I'm so good at this you need to subscribe to my channel because you suck too much!". That doubled my resolve to punch his dumb ass into the ground.
In the end he went like 1/7, and his team was likewise decimated. There was no contest about it, and as the game went on, I finally asked him if he also keeps up the videos where he suffers a humiliating loss like this. Shortly after I mentioned that, someone on my team implied something about seeing ward locations through the stream, and it hit me with a revelation. Was he trolling his own team?
I didn't jump into the stream myself, because aside from my computer not being able to handle it, I'm not a fucking tool.
I reported him. I don't know if that's against the rules or what, but allowing the enemy to screenwatch you with a stream service seems like a very reportable offense if it isn't already. Not to mention, you know, link your stream in the game, period. It makes you look like an ass.
Oh who am I kidding? Most of the community eagerly devolve into shitty behavior in this autotilt culture. It's not like this is going to be any worse for them.
