Teamates Are AFK and LP Loss After Ranked Games (During Mid to Late Game)

Hello, developers and people that play league. I am creating this as a way to express that in many games in ranked, there is a problem with people leaving in the middle of a game. This is especially critical considering that I was close to getting in my promotions and we had a 10 to 1 kill lead over the enemies. From our jungler leaving in the middle of the game we could not do anything and sit there and farm till the enemy team eventually out-scaled us and we threw a 6k gold lead. My question is why should players suffer a promos loss or a LP loss when the teammate went afk in the middle of the game. I understand that there is a remake for the early game but please do something to get rid of this problem since you take no actions against reporting. One thing I can suggest is what is similar to the mobile app called "Mobile legends" where they have "star protection" in which it detects if a player goes afk then you won't lose your hard work. It sucks that the game is in this state especially with the timeless hours you guys put in and I love this game but please fix this which will start to improve ranked. Thank You, PoseidonAngel

Any time you start fucking with LP other than winning or losing the game, then you pollute individual ranks and ladders as a whole. This would also encourage people to bully "bad" players to leave games to protect their LP. "Jesus dude, leave the game, you suck."

In addition to Gatekeeper's point, the existence of AFKers will always have a net-positive effect on your rank, as long as you never AFK.

In a vacuum: there are only 4 people on your team who can go AFK. There are 4 people on the enemy team who will AFK at the same rate. There is then an additional person on the enemy team who also has a chance to go AFK. As long as that chance is above 0%, your enemies will suffer more AFKs than your team.

With the added information that some people AFK in response to verbal toxicity: There are only 4 people on your team that have a chance of participating in negative chat. There are 4 +1 people on the opposing team that have that choice. So your opponents will also have an increased rate of going AFK above just matching the rate of your 4 teammates.


There is another argument against Loss Protection, and that is LP inflation. If in any game there is a chance of 5 winning and only 1 losing (the AFK), there will be an influx of LP into the ranked system. Without an eventual reset (which would need to wipe out exactly the same amount of LP that is lost from AFKs now) everyone would end up in Masters.
