Are players allowed to sit in base mid game to write a support ticket?

Had a conversation with someone on the boards about this and saw this comment

So I'd like an actual Rioter to comment on this. Because from what I'm getting, Nightblue3 is in the clear because he's writing a support ticket to report a player.

I've had plenty of games where I want to AFK because of in game reasons, ranging from a leaver, two people arguing and one pulling the "I'm gonna troll so he loses hehe xd", or even someone intentionally feeding. I want to know if I'm in the clear to alt+tab my game and write a support ticket. And I want to see a Rioter comment it here so it can be well documented.

No. It is not a defense to AFK/leaving behaviors that the player remained "at the keyboard" or was writing a support ticket.

disclaimer, not a rioter, just a boards member.

Definitely not. The only time it's acceptable to AFK is during an emergency like a family or weather crisis.

If you (meaning the player in question) needs to write a support ticket, do it after the game to get the full story & not ruin the game for your other teammates.
