Honour and Mastery Badges

Hi.

So we're coming into another season of honour.

But the badge system still has the one glaring fault.

Can we please, please, PLEASE have a way to hide the badges?

Last season, I hit Honour three, realized that the badge was completely unremovable, and immediately submitted a ticket asking for a way to remove it.

It seemed that the only way to do so was to receive a punishment and be dropped to H0.

So I asked for a chat mute and received one, and this was a solution.

But this was IN NO WAY an ideal solution. Because of my desire for privacy, I had to endure having my access to things like keys locked off.

How is this a good system?

So please, Riot. Give me a way to hide Honour badges.

On a related topic, I feel increasingly uncomfortable playing my favourite characters because of my Mastery badges. Can we please have a way to hide them too? I've been increasingly either not playing or playing in ARAM because of my Masteries on all my favourite characters, and ARAM is making me wish I could remove anybody I had a badge on from my list of random rolls.

Can't we just have basic respect for privacy?

I'm really not understanding. Why is it a bad thing to have people know you are honorable or enjoy a champion?

Yea I don't see the problem with letting people hide those things if they so choose.

BUT WAIT!!!! You asked Rito for a chat mute and received one?? That's awesome. I tried asking for one a while back and got rejected. FeelsBadMan

At first I thought OP was being ridiculous but when I actually think about it they make a good point. You shouldn't be forced to advertise your mastery and honor. It should be a perk we have the option to select.

I'm glad that I have helped illuminate a disconnect in your thinking. New information and perpectives are the most valuable things in the world to me, and I hoped I have enlightened you.

I'm glad you can see my point on the question. I would merely like to say, though, that while people like me who actively want it are the ones who are the initial voice, it's people like you, the people who wouldn't use it but can respect that somebody else might want to, who generally make the main bulk of the voice in such things.

I personally don't like being the voice speaking out for changes like this - as I have taken my time to explain in this very conversation, I don't want to be the center of attention - but somebody needs to do it.

But the real impetus of change, both in video games and in broader issues, isn't going to come from the few people who are going to speak up with misgivings - it's going to come from the general populace who speak in support of those people who they may not agree with, but can definitely respect their right for things. Like, in this case, privacy, even in the microcosm of a video game.

I have to say, with this being my third thread on this issue, each at a different point of the Honour System's existence, you are by far the most pleasant person I have spoken to about the topic. Please keep that mindset and composure intact on these boards. You make them a better place.

I mean, I don't quite get it, but yeah, why not give people the option to hide it? You're not gaining anything from it. You're just trying to hide a feature that used to not even exist in this game. A feature with no real consequence on the game. Just purely aesthetic (at least the part in question). So I hope they decide to appease you and add this option you are requesting.

You're pals can't see your honor lvl when viewing profile nor can you see the enemys, but your in game team can. But yeah I get your point, I'd like to turn it off If I was lvl 4 or 5 honor and a teammate believes I must be sociably friendly so they open up to ya but I'd rather they don't or if playing with pals with dishonorable that get jealous/insecure about it.

2nd topic still applies with 1st, except every1 can see it if they look you up or flash mastery, but yeah rather not get called out of playing mastery 7 420m point supmo by every1 that hates him/(secretly admires).
