Well, I got permanently banned.

crankyCrab·12/2/2018, 6:15:38 AM·27 votes·13,435 views

Let me start this off by saying I am not expecting to get unbanned by posting this. I know the consequences for my actions and am fine with the punishment.

Nothing much to say to justify my behavior. Got too tilted, said a bunch of bad stuff I shouldn't have, didn't take a deep breath, pretty much sabotaged my team, flamed both the enemy and my own team nearly the entire time. All in all I was acting in the exact manner that gives this game and the community a real negative reputation.

Let me serve as a warning to others to not be as bad as I am. If you are doing not too well in a game, don't do what I did and behave like an asshole. Inhale, exhale, take a drink, do whatever you take.

I paid the price for my asshole behavior (90 dollars in cosmetics and champions if I recall right) and now I get to think about my actions. To the people I insulted, it ain't worth much, but I am sorry. I really needed to chill and get good.

Props for owning up to your mistakes. As someone who's been in the same boat, it takes a lot to just accept that you fucked up.

On the bright side, 90 dollars is one of the lowest amounts spent on a permabanned account. I don't mean that in a degrading way, I mean that you should have no problem getting your favorite things back. :)

Before that, I'd recommend taking a break from the game though. It's something that really helped me and as of now it's been about a year and a half since that ban. Less anger, less stress, and I actually enjoy League more now.

$90 is nothing man. I’ve easily got over a grand invested. This game is super tilting with the garbage matchmaking. I fear I’ll get banned and if I do I won’t be coming back.

it's a blessing, move on and force yourself to rid of the addiction. League is rarely a good time and Riot's design philosophy is a toxic turd. There are plenty of good experiences in gaming that will make you ask yourself why you ever obsessed over LoL in the first place. Good on you for making this post tho.

I have one tip for you, get out of this game, seriously play other games, MOBA or not, but get out of this game because :

  1. You will feel healthier and grateful to yourself after this because you quit this toxic environment.
  2. You won t continue to play a game (and spend money in) made by a company that allows sexism, racism and harrasment in their own company but won t allows you to say that your mate is stupid even if it s a competitive toxic game will you ?
  3. Do you want to play a game where some teams arn't clearly giving a little bit of attention in their game (balance team and now skin team intensifies) ? I don't think so.

For my part I m just addicted to some champions but when i will get my permaban (it will happen i m sure) i will just get out of this game and trashtalk this company and his game untill things have seriously changed.

TBH I don't think you're an idiot. We're humans, all of us. Except BlitzBot. He's a God. I don't think that anyone actually expects anyone to stop being salty just because Riot threatens to ban. That, and I don't think that anyone who hasn't been punished fully understands what's punishable. But, now you know and now you'll learn.

Look on the bright side. Your problem is probably nothing more than voicing your frustration. At least you aren't racist, sexist, or otherwise hateful.

Ey, nice! We all get tilted sometimes. Especially when someone starts hard feeding and blames me (a jungle main) for not ganking and stuff...

With the way trolls are left unpunished, and the victims (of said trolls) being pushed over the edge and banned... soon this game will just fall apart. Filled with trolls and sponsored pros... so basically the same, but with less people.

I say save the apologies. People say you should have muted them... that's like telling a rape victim that they shouldn't have dressed so provocatively. Maybe trolls should be punished for trolling, rather than their victims for reacting. If there are no trolls, there can be no over-the-edge retaliation. Well.. seeing how long it took people to stop blaming rape victims for what happened to them, I don't see this happening any time in the near future.

Well what can you do when a community is toxic? Everyone is more prone to flaming and getting really mad because of this community.

Dr40UR12/3/2018, 2:29:15 AM2 votes

Be happy you only lost 90 dollars. If I lost my account, I'd basically be losing a house.

Breezy Boyy12/3/2018, 1:30:35 AM1 votes

Getting banned doesn't mean shit, I've been perma'd 8 times for toxicity, this is account number 9. Just make a new one, and after awhile, it's like the perma never happened.

Good thing new accounts are like 10 bucks xd

Verbally Abusing12/3/2018, 5:21:38 AM1 votes

Now you do what the rest of us do. Make a new account and start all over.

I think you got out cheap. Enjoy your time away from league :)

Were you playing Yasuo?

crankyCrab12/2/2018, 5:54:15 PM1 votes

Well, the feedback was more positive then I was expecting. Glad to see even with the generalized opinion of the game there are still cool people in it.

As for reducing the ban like some suggested, Blitzbot, our savior, pointed out why I was banned and wouldn't be getting a lighter sentence. I was really not expecting to get a slap on the wrist cause I don't think I deserved it, but I did it anyways. I will be taking a break from the game though in hopes to calm down.

Thanks for all the advice and positive words, will be taking them with me. Thanks y'all.

gotopie12/2/2018, 7:14:59 AM1 votes

You can always try to get the ban reduced by opening a support ticket. If this was your first punishment, no prior bans, it's very possible to get it reduced depending on the circumstances.

This game is often very frustrating and it's hard to not react negatively, especially when provoked. What has helped me tremendously is to /fullmute all every game. It will improve your awareness and concentration while simultaneously removing all the bullshit that goes on in chat. Pings are nice but people abuse them, and honestly, I don't miss them. Muting them has improved my map awareness because I'm not expecting people to tell me anything. It's on me to pay attention. It has honestly dramatically improved the game for me since I've started doing this as a rule.

Good luck. I might be leveling another alt soon so if you'd like to spam some games go ahead and add me.

This is sensible and boring. :( Read a bit of the other banned people's posts and you will find out that the proper message in a situation like this contains at least 3-4 of the following:

  • A plea to get unbanned
  • A thousand mile long chat log with horrible behavior you claim shows that the ban was not justified
  • A strong assertion that the ban was unjust
  • A poll that asks if it was unjust with about 99% of the votes going toward "no"
  • An angry rant about how it wasn't even really your fault you acted that way
  • A rant berating your teammates from the game the chatlog is from

If you end up making a new account and getting that banned too, I hope you consider the entertainment value of the post you make about that and conform to the standards of posting about account bans. For now, take a begrudging upvote.
