Honor isn't a "good behavior" vote. It's an MVP vote. I just played 4 ranked games. I got zero honor cuz I wasn't the MVP. So playing 4 ranked games a day at 0 honor per game I'm going to get honor level 2: never.
So I have to play ARAM to get my skin?
Being honored is actually a really small part of your Honor leveling; mostly you just go up as you play and show good behavior. People that are honored frequently will get to 5 a little faster, but you can receive not a single honor and reach 5 in a season easily as long as you play regularly and show good behavior.
People also don't solely vote on the best performance, they are pretty free with honoring those that simply made their experience fun. Try talking to your team, being positive and encouraging.
You never have to. Not only is honoring only a tiny fraction of honor, but you only need honor 2 to get rewards, which means just don't break the rules and you're fine.
Well, i'm honored in Ranked games, but not because i'm the best every time, just the nicest and most constructively supportive in the game. Be that person! :)
Honor isn't at all an mvp vote. If someone the best performance but the worst attitude, I'm sure as hell not honoring them. Just play the game and be positive and you should get honored with some frequency.
The system is really broken. I guess as long as you don't get reports or honors it counts as an overall improvement. However I absolutely agree that honor is an MVP award in lower and mid range elos and has no indication of a players good/improving behavior in game. I've given up on increasing my honor level cuz supports never get honors.
I've gotten honors just for keeping my mouth shut while getting crapped on by a teammate. One verbally abusive player and triple honors from the rest. I don't even remember what my score from that game, but it was awful, partly due to getting hung out by that guy.

Honor Level 2 is the minimum for EoS rewards. Which means that the entire season of zero honors is enough for at least that much. And it's funny how people expect Honors to be handed out to them, as if everyone is required to Honor after the game.
No, honors are not and MVP vote because when i wreck people with what i play, i sometimes don't get honors while on the games i least expect honors, i do get honored. I've reached H5 quite easily, while being pretty scarcely honored imho. And i don't really play that regularly either so if i managed to get to the max, it's not that hard either.
