why dont we perm mute accounts first?(discussion)

sorry if this is in the wrong section i didn't really see a better spot to post this.

please keep in mind this is my opinion based off of my own experience.

why do we account ban people for talking? why aren't perm mutes handed down?

this is specifically related to me, but also a general question, i've changed my ways from what i use to be and i havn't had any bad marks or reports to my current account because well.. i stopped being a douche.

if i say something and keep saying it, shouldn't the ability to say that bad thing be taken away instead of my ability to play?

if u can't say bad things, then the problem is solved, if you get reported excessively for feeding, or not ruining the game then give an account ban. because if u can't talk, which is one of the biggest things that ruins peoples games and throws them off. all that's left would be feeding,

but maybe someone who's so toxic the only way they can give out aggression is through verbal means, like myself. i'd never strike a human unless my life was in danger, when i get mad i get quiet and walk away, before, when i got mad well online, i would tell people, so they understood how mad i was, by saying mean things i didn't really mean, but where based off of my own insecurities and issues

i'm just saying... maybe handing down perm mutes instead of perm bans might be 1 step better into improving a person. because if i recieved a perm mute instead of a ban all those years ago, with that same original account, i sure would of never started feeding or being a bad players i would've understood why i got muted forever, and wouldn't of asked for an unmute.

i learn from my mistakes in life i really do, i only make the same mistake once.

this isn't a rant this is simply just getting something out there that's been on my mind since my main account got banned nearly 5 years ago

really sorry for spelling errors i try about 65% of the time to spell correctly unless i dont know the correct spelling ofcourse.

thanks for reading, have a great day.Braum

When we permanently ban players we want them to spend their time elsewhere. Permanent bans are reserved for players who were either extremely toxic (hate speech etc.) or refused to improve after numerous warnings.

Chat restrictions are our way of helping players realize their behavior is not acceptable, and shielding their behaviors from other players while allowing them a chance to improve.

This is why we provide chat logs and information about why we punished them. We aren't looking for ways to keep extremely toxic players in the community, which is why we do not issue permanent chat restrictions.

If a player wants to hide their chat on screen and communicate with pings, they are of course welcome to do it. That is them recognizing they have an issue and attempting to fix it.

Riot has tighten up on the chat restrictions. I have never had a chat restriction or suspension since season 4, however, in patch 6.24 (which was long ofc) i had 3 (still going through the most recent one) Basically Riot is catering to the children here or as i like to say, the church people. I have never played a game that priorities game chat/behavior so highly in my life. Even as a young child playing baseball (age 8-12 specifically) i have said worse things that are just "game/competitive talk"

I'm not one to throw out death threats but this company is just way too attached to the idea of a perfect experience.

if u can't say bad things, then the problem is solved,

You aren't solving the problem, you are putting a band-aid on chat toxicity.

That doesn't solve the problems as to removing toxicity.

You can agree to disagree with this one, but people that start getting toxic in chat for whatever reason also tend to give up the game, not care about it anymore and just keep feeding by splitting. Spam ping, afk, etc...

i stopped being a douche.

This is actually solving the problem, because there are a multitude of ways someone can be a douche and not only through chat. Someone who is determined to piss someone off is not going to be stopped just because they can't use chat.

Uhh, if your bad in league. You're punished+ no season rewards..... Being good gets you the season reward Does riot need to pay you not to be a dick to play their game?

yall are so mad, over words it's pathetic and hilarious at the same time. talk all this shit online, but in reality your the guys who are too shy to speak up at the guy people an asshole in the coffee shop line, anyone can type stuff online. it's so damn funny how bad you all really are at life. thats why you play this game, and most of you dont have jobs or futures. or friends.

Dynikus1/12/2017, 12:15:39 PM1 votes

They tried that already. Most people just resulted to being toxic in other ways.

i only make the same mistake once.

how did you get permabanned then?

Myrmiron1/12/2017, 12:51:52 PM1 votes

I still think words shouldn't EVER result in a permanent ban, so I'm all in favor of your idea. In my opinion permabans should be reserved for cheaters, boosters and their like. Just for the record, I have never even gotten a warning/chat restriction. So I don't say that because I'm salty or anything, it's just my humble opinion. Punish them all you want, but don't permaban them.

They don't deserve the privilege of playing.

ModPrandine1/14/2017, 11:48:16 PM

Why? Because they tried that and it didn't work. Players would rack up hundreds of cr games to the point where they couldn't get rid of them. What's more allot of ones with perma crs would just switch to other forms of griefing (int trolling, feeding, afking, using champ moves to harass allies) instead.

The current system forces people to either shape up or ship out faster than the old systems could.
