Chat vs Ban System
Hi everyone,
I, along with a lot of other players, have played the game for a long time. Myself, I've been here since season 1. There's been a lot of changes to the game, but it's usually been minor changes we quickly adapt to. And it's been very interesting changes, which is very positive to keep the game fresh! But there are 2 things that are currently ruining the game, and I wanna air my thoughts on this here. The first thing should probably be in a separate thread in another forum, but I'm lazy so I'm just putting it in short here.
Ok, so to keep it short; Stop reworking champions! It kills the nostalgia, which in return kills the desire to play the game. If you want a new champ, just make a new champ! It's that simple.
secondly I wanna talk about the current ban system. I've never received a ban myself, but I have friends who have exclusively duo'd with me, who are no worse than me in chat. They get banned. I don't. Before you could banter in chat. You could say "you suck" without being afraid you'd lose your account over it. Now you're better off not saying anything at all during a game in case it offends some random sensitive soul. Hell, You might get banned for actually giving people advice, cus they take it negatively or English isn't your first language so you can't put your thoughts in words in a polite way. If someone is abusive in chat, shouldn't the answer be to just take their chat privileges away, instead of permanently banning their account?
Anyway, these are my view on the current state of the game and Riot's policies, and I fear the current policies is turning players away from the game we all used to love. Unfortunatey the nostalgia still lives in me, but only as a distant memory. I don't enjoy the game the same way anymore, cus all the champs I used to play have been reworked. I don't enjoy it cus I can't banter in chat. I don't enjoy anything anymore, it's just something I play to kill time. Riot, you are not supposed to baby the community. People gotta learn to handle themselves in situations where someone tells them they suck when they actually suck. You don't need to act as their parents. Cus guess what, when these kids get out in real life, with real jobs and real people, they're gonna have to do their job, or lose it. You're teaching the kids who play the game that when someone talks the truth to them, no matter how unproductive it is, all they have to do is go to mommy (riot) and they'll get the other person punished, while they get to keep not doing their job.
Think about it. Please.
