When will riot change from banning players to reforming players?

So I was looking up different topics about permabans and I saw this thread that said Lyte once said that riot was looking into changing bans into reforms. My question is, when will this become a thing, and if so, will players with permanently banned account be allowed to get their accounts back? My main concern is how much money I’ve thrown away and waisted because I was young and immature. On that note, I would like a way to talk to riot about getting my rp transferred to my new account. I understand what I did was wrong and immature and never plan to do it again.

PS: to everyone who wants to bash me for getting banned, you can go for it, but I will just ignore you. I know that I am truly reformed and a good person and that on the unlikely chance that my account is unbanned, there is a 100% chance I will follow the summoner’s code and never do anything so immature again.

Try to use more with your brain than your mouth. Reform when you're given the chat restrictions & 14 days suspension, not get permabanned after getting 10+ penalties & come back with your "I'm reformed" bullshit.

I doubt that'd be remotely possible. If you didn't lose something more tangible than time, the punishment likely wouldn't have the same effect. If you simply lost the account, but not the money spent on it, I'd imagine your ability to reform would be somewhat hampered, since all that time can simply be re-invested.

The money, however, cannot, which is why the loss of it serves as an effective tool for getting the point of a punishment across - in this case, the permaban trying to tell players that their behavior was wrong, and that they're unwelcome in League.

You may be reformed (I personally have no way to prove it or prove otherwise, so I won't say anything on the matter of your behavior), but sadly, the damage is done.

The official stance is that the last chance you have to reform is the two-week ban. I'm not sure what the date of the Lyte post you read was, but a few years back they had a program where players could get their accounts un-banned by getting to level 20 cleanly, and the results of testing the process were so overwhelmingly negative that they abandoned it.

The system as it stands gives you several chances to reform. If you push it to the point of getting perma'd, Riot's lost all confidence in your ability to fix your behavior, so the account is entirely gone. I don't think that's particularly unreasonable.

You get multiple chances to straighten up your behavior with their current system. If by the time you come off a two week ban and you are still acting like you were before, why bother giving you another chance?

You've already proven multiple times you don't want to change. As for getting back an account, that'd make the ban pointless. People would just claim their being a good boy or girl to get it back and then turn around to do the same crap.

Don't want to lose your account? Stop doing the things that will make you lose it.

Getting banned only means you get reported alot. Thus alone - and with text often out of context - we know that the auto-dection system is bogus. Complaning and request a report can trigger a negative review on your account, calling someone ~to stop beeing so toxic or ~please dont feed can also flag and ban your account.

So no, I dont think you deserve to be bashed. And no, I dont think Rito will ever unban accounts for whatever reason nor will they rethink their stupid policy.

The truth is, you got banned bc they deem you to be justly negative - doesnt matter who started it, it only matters that you responded. So while you got banned, the real reason why "toxicity" exist is still out there.. and it tends to get ignored by Riot Games.

And thus, is the real issue at hand.. Rito employees are toxic, unfair and understaffed themself. Learn from it.. took me 5 accounts to stop asking ppl to feed or to get reported.

Well Lyte is gone so that might be over, but a perma ban is basically "We warned you and asked you to reform via chat restrictions and a 14 day break to cool off and you're not listening."

A reform program was tried once, the level 20 challenge, and only 5% of the people in it actually reformed.

It really breaks down into two categories.

1.) Helping players reform 2.) Shielding others from the behavior, at a cost.

We used to issue chat restrictions that essentially scaled indefinitely.

We were able to determine that after a certain point the penalty no longer helped with reform. The 10-game and 25-game counts for chat restrictions are based on data that they were both light enough, and felt strict enough to encourage people to understand their behavior is unacceptable in game and change it.

We also saw that the players in this 'large restriction' category defaulted to gameplay altering means of harassing their team. It caused an increase in feeding and trolling.

The sample size of this population and time frame is huge. Essentially the time spanning from the introduction of chat restrictions to the introduction of IFS.

So my question for you is, would you rather have more feeders and less negative chat?

This was tantrums comment about it on another post( https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/wsObUaFj-if-tyler1 ). They don't believe the older solution worked so they got rid of it and got a stronger punishment system in place. I am sorry but even if you are reformed, other players have placed the standard so low that you will not get a second chance.

You can't force decency into a human. It's their choice to keep the toxic behavior and if the don't learn with yellow cards you can't give them more and more chances to ruin the game for other ppl.

Lyte doesn't work for Riot any more, things he said he was planning to implement are not necessarily still on the table anymore.
