Nightblue3 got a teemo support off meta banned. - why nightblue is right

If you dont know. The drama now is about how nightblue got a "teemo support off meta style" banned. What the teemo play er did is not off meta. Its trolling because of this one thing - when doing things like this (changing your lane) you need your team to agree. All you have to do to get proof of this is what happened with the singed player like 3 years ago. Riot said that when you do these things you need to ask your team if they're ok with that. Taking your mid laner xp/ putting them behind is not acceptable. especially when the mid laner (and all of the other lanes do not agree) It dosent only put your mid laner behind but probably your adc as well (or any other lane). Your team did not agree to you playing this dont play it. Its that simple. Thats against the rules. (This play style)

It might be getting to the point that mods need to start cutting down these threads. There's already so many of them and people just keep on creating more because they want their comment to be the title.

No, you dont need your team to agree. I dont need to ask my team what i can and can not do. Ever. I dont need anyones permission to play the game.

Supposedly, the reason is because there was a pattern of intent to grief streamers in particular. Going teemo support mid EVEN IF YOUR TEAM DOES NOT LIKE IT is not reportable nor banable.

Wow, that is completely wrong. If off-meta picks are against the TOS, then RIOT would have to delete the majority of their roster.

I have not followed this made-up controversy, but I would guess that the player was banned for repeatedly trolling, not because of NB3.

NB3 himself should be banned for his extremely toxic behavior. He has become such a bore to watch.

Below is from Wookiecookie on the Reddit thread.

Gonna piggy back off this comment to address a few things!

Riot will not ban a player for off meta-play; full stop. If you're curious on our thoughts about off meta play you can hear it straight from Meddler here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMAAfm095tg

This player in particular popped up on our radar a few weeks ago and we decided to not take action at that time because playing Teemo in this method is not against our rules.

However, after reviewing the continued reports we were receiving (from multiple sources) a pattern was forming where this targeted off meta behavior was occurring most often in games when the player was with a high profile streamer. If you want to play off meta, we think that's great! If you want to play off meta only to spite other players and reap the negative reactions and attention from their viewers while they are streaming then we don’t consider that a good faith use of off meta play.

Reporting players for trolling is not something only streamers have the power to do. I always encourage people to report through the client (obviously). But if you encounter a player that you think is behaving in a way to get around our systems then anyone can send us a ticket directly and we will investigate that situation. We won't take action if we can't determine a pattern of trolling or if we believe the player is making a good faith effort with their off meta play. But if we do see someone is consistently using off meta play as an excuse to troll people then we will intervene when we can.

well ive seen most of the fight between nubrac and nightblue3 and what i can tell is both people are in the wrong but nubrac really didn't deserve that ban

most easy solution would be make a ranked blind pick mode where people can go off meta

When u can't play ur own strategy in a video game where skill and strategies means so much if not everything, then u'know this game is dead. back in season 1-3 people were innovative now it's stale repetitive same thing and god forbids anyone to try something new. Dead game and this community is dead much like nb3 himself.

Forcing your bot to play 1v2 the entire laning phase and soaking XP from other lanes is not an off-meta strat, it's trolling. There is not a single high elo player that is supporting Nubrac's strategies, even pro players are tweeting about it being bad. But what is the point of trying to make gold players understand that?
