Ally's and the Honors System -- Please attend to this issue or leave feedback, Thank you.

In general, the Honors System is supposed to support players who show appropriate and sportsmanlike behavior towards their teammates and other players while playing the game.

Please note that the following statements are based off multiple experiences as a veteran player over the course of 2018, and even more so since League of Legend's upbringing.

Here are some issues I've personally found as a invested player would like changed:

When a player does genuinely well during the game or carries the game they only have a chance of receiving any honors from players they played with.

This directly affects a player whom doesn't receive the proper honors or rewards from the honors system if below a certain honor rank or when simply ignored when not talking and choosing to focus on the game rather than type. As someone who has frequent power outages in my neighborhood I find this very displeasing, and would wish this to be changed to better suit the player when they deserve the honors or not.

When your team is unsportsmanlike; thus not honoring anyone, and/or having the enemy recognize you deserve the honor for the well played game regardless of winning or losing.

I've found this -- and i'm sure many other players too -- to be quite revolting in the matter of respect for who played well or was nice that game. As a support main I try my best to offer solutions to problems and possible teamwork such as (pings, typing, etc. ).

And lastly but possibly the most annoying and warranted problem needing a solution would be players who AFK or other methods of inactivity. This disallows them to honor period, regardless of when they left and leaving the other players with a bitter taste of League of Legends.

Here are the following solutions that I'd like to suggest:

  1. First have a system that could recognize players true intent for leaving to the best of its ability. And with all due respect would vastly improve leavers and AFKs during a game.

  2. Second re-enable the enemy team to give 1 honor each to the opposing team. This will allow the chance for a player to be rewarded for their honorable decisions and respective plays throughout Runeterra. Of course there must be a balance to every change thus a cap of 4 honors per player should be invoked and allow other players a chance to receive an honor for that game.

  3. Lastly and as always an improvement to the reporting system to keep players safe of abusive language and toxic players while on the Rift.

Thank you for your time to anyone who may read this, GG<3 League of Legend Gamers.

While I agree that more leniency should be given to players who suffer from things like power outages or disconnects, the player is still leaving the game and putting their team at a huge disadvantage. Also, there's always a way to abuse systems like these such as DDOSing yourself or flipping a circuit breaker (outrageous example, I know haha) to simulate a power outage. It's usually very difficult to implement and just not worth the time considering most players have infrequent issues relating to connectivity.

Second re-enable the enemy team to give 1 honor each to the opposing team. I don't see why not. I miss honoring sportsmanlike opponents and it'd be nice to have that feature returned to further reward good behavior.

Lastly and as always an improvement to the reporting system to keep players safe of abusive language and toxic players while on the Rift.

I think for the most part our system does a great job at enforcing punishments for toxicity. Most toxic players will get banned within a few games, I feel like making the system more strict would start becoming a con rather than a pro.

I think griefers and AFKers need more strict, immediate punishments but those are generally harder to enforce because there are so many gray areas.

Overall, great post and I enjoyed reading. Keep it up :p

If you oftenly suffer from power outages, get yourself a power back up pack. Plug your computer, monitor and internet modem/ router to it. The extra 15 minutes tou can have will normally give you enough time to finish the game.

I never even think about honors. I just quick honor someone that stood out after game and move on. (Except maybe 2 times that I didnt honor anyone, because the team was just that unsportsmanlike) I dont pay attention to who got honored the most or why people honor. It takes a while to climb, and simply playing games without breaking any rules will get you to honor 5.

  1. Impossible. (Simply put. Not trying to be an ass, it just is literally impossible)

  2. Agree with honoring enemy. Totally always wanted that... even lost a bet over when it would be implemented because i was so sure it was coming lol. However, keep it at 1 honor max (for enemy, so I guess 2 total, 1 for ally, 1 for enemy) just to stay in the ballpark of what we have now, because I dont know how that would affect the climb to honor 5. Could complicate everything and theyd have to change their parameters n such.

  3. I think their reporting system is fine, if not a little too PC, safe-spacey. But I understand they want to protect their playerbase, so whatever. But if you look around the PB boards, you'll find that tons of people get punishments for toxicity daily. They even have zero tolerance phrases that lead to instant 14 day ban. Next punishment after that is a permanent ban.

Over all, I personally think honor is fine. If you AFK a lot, youre still ruining the game for 9 other people by making it a 4v5, and no one (rightfully so) is gonna honor you after that. I think thats fine. Of course, you dont, because it negatively affects your honor. But thats on you man. Sorry. Unfortunate.

P.s. I didnt know about that back up power pack kei mentioned either. I hope you get one and it solves the afk problem. Good luck!
