I am a player who recently got permanantly placed in a 20 minute low priority queue by leaverbuster. I consider myself a player that is not toxic and by no means have intended to harm other players with my AFK's/dc's. Only rarely do I leave games intentionally, and those few games are ones that are being interrupted by some other uncontrollable activity and thus I am unable to avoid leaving the game. My main source of dc's is my laptop which tends to have issues loading into league occasionally. This often results in a LeaverBuster warning after the game is finished. Due to these consistent malfunctions and my inability to purchase a new laptop, I have been permanantly placed in a low priority queue. At least in my case, this kind of punishment is clearly not the intended purpose of the LeaverBuster system which is meant to seek out toxic players. I am almost certain that there are others who have computers which are the source of low priority queue punishments. How common this is, I have no idea. But I think that it's important for Riot to recognize, evaluate, and fix any ineffective and unfair ways that this LeaverBuster system operates. The LeaverBuster punishments are harsh, and discourage avid albeit unfortunate players from participating in enjoying this game. Again, the are no data that I know of to support this hypothesis, but I do believe it should be investigated.

Your computer/connection are your responsibility. Leaverbuster punishments tell you that you have an issue that you need to solve before queuing again. It is a common misconception that the only target of leaverbuster is rage quitters. People with frequent problems have the exact same impact as rage quitters. While you may be right that in those moments you cannot do anything to avoid the problems, but those are a matter of upkeeping your computer. Your laptop not being good enough to reliably load league is by no means uncontrollable.

Unfortunately it's not really possible to investigate, for example, your particular issues with LeaverBuster punishments due to computer restarts or failing to connect. LeaverBuster only reads server side information. That information says your account left an active game. The servers themselves are unable to tell whether you left because of a computer malfunction, etc. I have received the "I Agree" stage of the LeaverBuster because my Mac also likes to randomly restart whilst League is open; so I do feel your pain of computer-related disconnects. It sucks, I know, and it must really suck that you've now been placed in the punishment pool that you have been because of it.

Although you probably already have done these things, may I suggest, just in case, you check your Logs and send them to tech support? They have be able to identify then the reasons for the leaving and may remove the LeaverBuster? Also, open task manager (assuming you are using a Windows OS) and close all processes not necessary whilst running league. Your laptop may be freezing up, etc, due to over usage of RAM or CPU. Check your "Optional" updates under Windows Update to see if there's any updates for your laptop's Wifi driver and HDD driver. Disable Menu Animations at the log in screen and set everything down to the bare minimum and try playing without sound. It will suck to not hear the sound of an ulting Sion coming, or someone stepping on your Caitlyn traps, I know, but it may help your issue.

It doesn't matter why you AFK. It still ruins the experience for other players.

you need to fix that man. your teammates dont care if you have laptop issues or not, they want a teammate who will be there for the entire duration of the game. fix your laptop issues and you should be fine after that.

I absolutely hate it when I get stuck on a team with an AFK/Leaver! That being said, my power goes out once due to construction near my place and now I have to wait 10 minutes per match???? There needs to be a system in place to be able to report issues such as this. My computer working properly and running up to spec is absolutely my responsibility, but there are certain circumstances, i.e. power outages, that are absolutely out of our control and should not be penalized for.
