why previously punished players can't get crates

OK, this has just been aggravating me for quite some time now. why is it that literally anyone who has gotten banned for any period of time cannot get the crates for getting and s- or above from a teammate or themselves? i can understand getting punished but isn't that what the ban was for? I got banned and trust me i learned my lesson, that lesson being i no longer even talk in chat anymore. but why punish all previously banned players indefinitely? it very harsh and friggin annoying now that i have to literally spend money on the game just to even get a lvl 6 or 7 mastery. Now i can understand this indefinite punishment if the account has been banned more than one time but come on, give people a break.

p.s. i recognize the fact that i deserved my ban in the past and i learned from it, many people have learned from their ban, just give us another chance i begs

It's because earning free loot from the Hextech Crafting system is considered a reward, not a privilege.

You can work off your ineligibility by playing matches and showing you've reformed. The higher tier punishment you received the more games you'll have to play, and continuing to show negative behavior may result in you being punished again and only extending the ineligibility even further.

update; after about 10 games of me being as nice as i can possibly be, i got the reward of getting chests again. ty Deep Terror Nami <3
