I tend to get carried away in conversation sometimes during chat in game, frustrated with players them frustrated with me and there is arguments between each other recently I was handed a 2 week ban (have already received the chat restrictions) for something I don't think is worthy of handing out a ban when the instigators and other people involved were saying much worse none the less I have the ban i'm dealing with it wrote a ticket to see what can be done my fear is now even if i say something minor my accounts on the line. my question being is there a period of time I can go with good behavior to reset the chat restriction process so instead of a perma ban if something is to happen next time I will get a chat restriction again or another temp ban? and if that is how it works how long does that take?
personally I find the punishment system in this game unfair, yes my language was used poorly but they have to understand that people are going to curse and use foul language, if not why would they allow you to disable the language filter, so many players are competitive with this game so its bound to get heated and people don't know their limits online (such as myself)personally I think they should tone down the punishment system and extend it a little more such as

1st offence:10 game chat restriction 2nd: 25games 3rd :1 week ban 4th: 2 weeks 5th: 1 month 6: banned for good

but even something like that probably wouldn't help anything

Yes, you can drop down the punishment tiers over time if you quit with the negative behavior. If you actually reform then you've got nothing to worry about.

If you are having an issue with getting into arguments, the best and obvious solution is to just mute them. You aren't going to convince anyone they are wrong by insulting them, and you're likely to just make things worse when you should be focusing on the match. They will be held responsible for their own behavior just as you are yours, so don't add to the negative environment and report them instead. You can rely on pings pretty effectively and not need to chat at all if you have to.

DTN covered what you need to do pretty well.

I just wanted to add a little history on the system and why the escalation works the way it does. There used to be quite a few more punishment tiers than there are now, and sometimes consecutive punishments would still repeat the previous tier, granting even more chances. It's been a while so I might not have this exactly right, but it was something like warning, 1-day, 3-day, 7-day, 14-day ban, then permanent ban. That's six tiers, or more.

What they found was that each subsequent chance a player was given had drastically diminishing returns, in terms of reform rates. Most players who got a warning would reform and not even make the 1-day ban. Quite a few who got the 1-day ban would reform and not fall back into the system again. But by the time it got to the 4th tier, the 7-day ban, almost nobody would reform. So they were basically just recycling players back out to ruin games until they climbed the last 2 tiers to a permanent ban.
