WHY ARE SO MANY LEAGUE PLAYERS ASSHOLES?

So I'm a college student at CMU, I'm 20 years old, and I enjoy playing league when I have the time. I play to relieve stress but recently its been anything but relaxing. In ever single game there is arguing. People personally insulting other players without even knowing them. How can someone say, "your a fucking dike go hang yourself" and feel good about themselves. I don't know how this problem can be fixed but I think it can start if riot penalizes extremely harsh players more. Honestly I thought this was a team game, but its really just a way for angry people to insult and make other people feel bad. Bottom line people, this is a game! But video games are the only game where someone can tell someone to commit suicide behind the comfort of their screen.

When people are isolated from each other, but still interact, there tends to be a lot more friction. Driving a car is a good example of this. The other reason for a lot of league players being assholes is that a lot of people are assholes, but don't express it in daily life because it would have repercussions.

Find a good group of people and play with them.

People say stupid things because people feel it's easy to say insulting things hiding behind a screen...

Riot doesn't give a shit about toxic players. They usually punish the GOOD players..... I play hockey with my buddies and guess what, none of them tell me to go FUCK OFF AND KILL YOURSELF YOU PIECE OF SHIT CANCER LOSER.... If they did... I'd walk off the ice because I will not tolerate that. Riot expects me to play a game with these little "kiddies". If you disconnect from these toxic players, riot punishes you.... While DENYING the CAUSE of why you are disconnecting, THE TOXIC PLAYER screaming/frothing at the mouth. No sane person in the real world would tolerate this behavior, many people NOT SURPRISINGLY, refuse to tolerate it online. Riot needs to STOP punishing players that leave games WITH TOXIC PLAYERS and BAN THE TOXIC PLAYERS I.P. ADDRESS, NOT JUST ONE ACCOUNT. NOT THAT HARD. If you need help coding, I'm available if you're are incapable of such simple programming. Maybe hire new programmers.

because when it's JUST some dissociative batch of pixels that subverted their emotions and expectations while THEY are looking to have fun WHILE being internally damaged people, they aren't going to see you as a person... or care... and so their petty narcissistic sides looking for "emotional satisfaction" kicks in to compensate... and any attempt to attack, like they do, is a projection/reflection of them and the insecurities THEY feel inside. Forget the words, and look at what the ACTION is in the moment with what they are choosing to DO with their words. The specific words are JUST there to distract you... read the "choice" they are making... and just tell them "I'm sorry your mom never gave you a hug when you needed it"

Chances are... THAT (or something like that) will hurt them more than any immature and hateful thing they say to you
