whats going on with people? Im losing faith in humanity

Before I start I would like to add that I am in silver 2 right now so im pretty bad at the game anyways I just had a stomp game where we destroyed the enemy team but the thing that caught my attention was that the enemy soraka was completely getting harrassed by the enemy mid laner and adc. The enemy adc wanted to rank up so much that they lost complete control over themselves and started flaming soraka. I told soraka to not worry and that its just a game and its not meant to be taken seriously to the point of threatening someones life and the trist starts looking up my op gg and judging me even tho i was doing really well. I dont understand why some people are so toxic about ranked, is this why people usually /mute all?
