i was just permanently banned - seems a bit too severe for someone having a poor day

Today I started of the game "off tilt" entirely I got plenty of people in my consecutive games that were out to put me on tilt; but I continued playing and started to win. My final game I also won but the rage built up inside of me over time and I immaturely let it out among someone who was instigating a fight. I have been banned before for such behavior but only for a 2 week span. I believe jumping from 2 weeks to permanently is far too harsh a sentence but that's just me.

I am far from indicating my punishment is injust, only such that the punishment dished out being eternity vs 2 weeks seems like too far of a gap. I'm seeing people getting banned for a month(s) worth or even a year +. What makes my case so special that I get jumped from to permanently after being on stage 2 of getting my honor back? I just want answers. I've invested too much time and money into this account to want it to be gone forever and would use this as a shock to put me back on track.

Riot should honestly imo just do a perma chat ban. Like why take away years of your time, just remove your chat option and no more flame.

Better yet, let you talk. But don't show it to anyone. You can be incredibly toxic and never know. (Granted has some game implications).

I think the logic is that you should try to be considerate enough to the multiple people you're playing with that may also be having a bad day. I was permanently banned, too.

Cheer up. You can either start over or play something new. Starting over can be fun... It's exciting to actually start unlocking champions again. I had all champs, runepages, bunch of skins. Does suck and feels like you've actually been robbed, but whatever. Just be nicer.

Fuk these assholes, make 3 new accounts and play a little on each one, and troll the morons to death.

Every time I get a whiny ADC who wont do anything, I just let it go. We are already going to lose anyway, so why even try?

Not going to carry morons, or even make the attempt.

There are 4 tiers of punishment:

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14-day ban
  4. Permaban

There's no such thing as 1 month ban or 1 year ban.

If you've previously gotten a 14-day ban, then your account is on thin ice and it clearly stated inside your reform card that your next punishment would be a permaban.

The permanent ban is judging 2 games.

Game 1: I chose to sit in base and let the enemy end because our jungler was afk in base and our top laner dced. I decided to take the easy way out instead of playing out an obviously lost game.

Game 2: I played well and we won but I got into a verbal altercation calling our top laner a few choice names followed by muting them (which i should have done from the start). I just vented without thinking and likely deserve this punishment.

Riot doesn't do any month/year long bans, so I'm fairly certain you aren't seeing this, at least not in League. The only punishments for chat behavior are 10/25 game chat restrictions, 14 day bans, and only after you go through all those punishments do you receive a permanent ban (though it is possible to skip the chat restriction punishments if you exhibit zero-tolerance behavior like hate speech/encouraging suicide). In fact, on the reform card you get for your 14 day ban, it specifically tells you that your next punishment will be a permanent ban.
