Unsure Why I received a Chat Ban

Hi guys. I've been playing League here and there for a while and I find PVP games too toxic so I play Co-op Vs. AI and even then there's people trying to grief me from time to time. This time I was banned, and I don't understand why. I had a Riven (botter/cheater; if you've played bot games you've probably seen some) in my lane feeding the bots so needless to say I'm behind. Then the jungler walks up, takes both the kills before I could secure them, and proceeds to take my cs. I tell him to leave and spam ping him since he has 2 jungles to farm. He replies with spamming his laugh and emotes at me while taking my farm. It's frustrating so I let him know that he's griefing and will receive a report from me.

There's the backstory of how it began, thus an argument occurred about whether or not what he was doing was in any way breaking the established code of conduct. IMO both of us were annoyed at each other, but neither of us were verbally toxic.

It's ironic how during this argument I was trying to explain the ban system to him, then I'm the one getting banned and don't understand why. Lol

Could someone please enlighten me on how to deal with difficult people like this in the future on League? Also point out what I did wrong here. I want serious responses please, as I seriously don't understand why I'm being punished. Thank you for your time.

*It should be noted I've never received a punishment before on League at all, and that I just lost all my honor rank I was working so hard for :/

Well, harassing is a good reason as to why. I don't know whether or not Jax deserves it but I know you do.

Read the first section under "Thing to Avoid."

Also the behavior you described is not griefing and you submitted a false report, though that's not why you were chat restricted.

Why do people write thesis papers on why they don't deserve to be chat restricted? Nobody gives a fuck about context or your feelings. Just post the chat logs.

You spent all game flaming someone, constantly telling them how and they are and how they are going to be banned.

None of that served any purpose except to harass, distract, them and make them play even worse.

The irony is that their bad play was probably mostly your fault.

Hey buddy... sorry that this happened. If you happen to have queued with a team of 4, and if they all report you then the algorithm pretty much gives you a penalty. It does not matter if they are wrong to report you. It happens all the time, young immature folks will gang up on an innocent person and mass report 1 person for fun because they know how the system works. Go to the support section of the league website and ask for assistance. If you explain clearly, they will remove the honor block and chat restriction and ACTUALLY slap a penalty on the other morons instead. HOWEVER, if they played aweful and you raged them it would still put you in the wrong no matter how wrongly/badly they played.

sorry about the greifing but didn't you know that trolls are allowed in LOL but if you call one out Riot will ban you watch out

At the end of the day , it doesn't matter. I have seen people get penalties instantly after leaving end-of-game page. You cannot tell me someone reviews the reports within seconds.... So yes, number of reports makes a difference, unless there are robots deciding who gets penalties. I have received thank you messages (instant feedback reports) for reporting people, immediately after leaving a game. And yes I agree that someone actually reviews reports, but not for first offenses, it doesn't make sense for the millions that play this game. Stop pretending someone is watching and reading your complaints.

Numerous easily verifiable reports of players go unpunished, i am sure of that. The only ones i get feedback reports for are the ones i report as a group. So definitely there is a trend. Just keep a tally and you will see this trend. Just this month i have even seen a case of Pedaphilia going unnoticed probably because i was the only one to report and the rest of the team thought it was funny. So it is not like im reporting for minor things. at the end of the day, think of the type of community who plays this game. toxic behavior is so common and i see one very offensive player every 10 games that i play.. I am pretty sure they do not ALL get penalties.
