Editing a report

I had thread removed .. for the right reasons, in that I had posted names and a log of a conversation. No worries. I was half expecting to get a small suspension myself for my own behaviour in that. However that, while not the reason for this post, did highlight another issue.

After we report someone in post-game .. Is it possible please to go in and edit the report? For example, reporting someone for toxic in game hate-speech. And then being able to go in and edit the report to include a mention that it continued on in post-game chat.

Also being able to remove a report. For example, Someone afks half way through a game. You report them for it. Then after you do someone else mentions that they're chatting with them in real life and they're computer froze or they lost net for awhile and then for some reason unable to re-connect. Or similar. And you'd like to now remove that report because of extenuating circumstances.

You can't edit or remove them, but it makes no difference anyway. Nobody actually reads those reports as an automated system is used. Especially so in your example, AFKing/leaving is automatically handled by the Leaverbuster system regardless of whether or not it was reported.

As the others have already said, you cannot edit reports once they have been submitted. If you feel that something absolutely urgent needs to be amended into a report from something that happens in the post-game lobby after you have submitted your report, you can take a screenshot of the lobby chat and submit it with a ticket to Player Support. However, if it is for something that is simply a continuation of in-game events, then there really isn't a need, as it's already been documented under the regular report.

One note about the extenuating circumstances you mention in the second example... the LeaverBuster system is actually designed to take those into account. If a player doesn't make a habit of leaving games, but has to leave for one game, on their first leave they will be issued with a warning by the system. It's only when players begin to show a pattern of those behaviors that they are issued a punishment (low priority queue) by the system. Granted, that pattern can be something as minor as afking in multiple ranked games over the course of a few days and getting slapped with a 5 minute LPQ, but if a player consistently does not leave or afk in games, then they would not be in danger of being punished for one extenuating circumstance, even if you did report them. But, as the others have said, LeaverBuster does pick things up automatically. I suppose that report category is still in there for the players who move around just enough to keep from getting kicked from the game. And if you happen to have one of those as your extenuating circumstance, well, that's just suspicious!

I'd just submit a ticket and they usually get back to you that way. Also i don't believe there's a character limit when submitting a ticket

I suspect it's because there aren't actually very many games where post game chat makes a differences in whether a player earns a punishment or not.

I don't know if I can find the Red post again, since it was several years ago and over in the old forums.
