Ban Appeal and Told to Come Here??

Hello,

I had submitted a ticket to contest what I felt like was an unwarranted 2-week suspension, and after failing to resolve the issue was told to come and post here instead.

Not sure why I have to publicly shame myself in order to contest a ban, but here's my post I guess:

I got a two-week suspension which I don't think was justified, and would like reversed.

If a Rioter can DM me I'd like to keep my personal issues off the boards, but if I have to air my dirty laundry here in order to be considered for appeal, then let me know.

And no, I'm not not posting my logs here because I assume I'm guilty. I just don't think it should be necessary to share personal issues with a public forum.

Thanks for your help.

EDIT: Looks like I do need to post my log. It's posted below for those interested.

Well, if Riot sent you here, they're probably encouraging you to get community review and a better understanding of your punishment from the perspective of your peers.

You're not obligated to share your logs, but your logs are the only evidence as to whether or not your ban was justified, and while you can definitely keep it between you and Riot, community review doesn't hurt.

I will say this much, from a personal standpoint, is that if you're reluctant to provide your chat logs, that usually means you've got something to hide. But, that's only a rule of thumb, and I will take your statements of privacy as they are. I just know someone else will inevitably bring up that suspicion, so, might as well get it out cleanly.

At any rate, if Riot sent you here, like I said, they probably figure that you'll get a better understanding of your punishment through the community, so the only thing I can suggest outside of accepting the peer review would be to submit just one more Support Ticket for an appeal.

You had some lewd banter with the enemy Darius; you called your teammates "toxic" three times, which just fans the flames; you asked the enemy team to report your team, which is harassment (additional reports make no difference, either). I see no zero-tolerance words - did you have any chat restrictions before this two-week suspension?

Anyway, if you're not very careful from now on, you'll end up permabanned. No more "this is fine because it's banter," no more "this could really go either way," no more "this wasn't that bad," no more "my team made me behave this way." You don't have to be a ray of sunshine in each game, but if what you want to say isn't positive or neutral (and I mean actually neutral, not "it could have been received neutrally if the bonobo was in a good mood" neutral), don't say it.

If Riot is sending you here, it means they have already declined your appeal because your suspension was justified.

It does not matter that you disagree with it. If Riot determines you violated the policy, they will not remove the ban.

I didn't think calling a player out for being toxic was "accusing" them of being toxic when they were quite literally being toxic (and Riot has their logs to prove it) and would would be considered punishable. Seems silly to me.

Riot just loves shaming the community, don't worry, You're not the only POS they do this to. I have yet to see a streamer have to post here after a ban though!!!???

You dont deserve a ban imo, after looking at your logs.

[All]DEGAtv: you have a nice big cock, darius [All]DEGAtv: ur making me so hard, darius

also lol

Keep spamming riot support, they never read the first few tickets properly. I've had to nag them on multiple times to get an issue resolved, or any concrete answer AT ALL.

(by spam I mean keep sending tickets after every automated reply, dont send multiple tickets if you haven't received a reply)

In the past, when Riot Support has sent people to the boards to "contest their ban", it was a misreading on the part of the posting player.

In those other cases, Support tried explaining the punishment system, but the players were unwilling to accept it. After an unfruitful discussion, Support would then suggest that the player post on the forum, not to get a different resolution to the problem, but instead they were sent here to propose changes to the punishment system.

If a proposal to modify the punishment system gets massive public support, then it would be possible for Riot to change the system.

The Support personnel that you interact with via the ticket system have no authority to change how the system works. Thus, if you want to change how the system works, the only viable solution is to convince the people who can change it, via a forum post. That is why Support has in the past sent people to the forum.

No one on the forums has the ability to modify a punishment.

I'd try your luck with a different Riot Support. Best trying to catch them via live chat too.

Player support wouldn't send you here to appeal your ban, as they know we have no power to change anything.

They would send you here to debate policies and what not, or understanding a broader point of view from the community.

So go over exactly what they said and why they sent you here, cos it's certainly not to appeal your ban. If you are having trouble deciphering what they mean, you can post the ticket here and we can decipher it for you.

Privacy rules dictate what a company is allowed to share publicly. It does not apply to what an individual posts about themselves.

Chat logs may be personal, but they've already been shared with up to 9 people plus the potential for streaming or youtube. The privacy issues have to do with someone's account status, and protecting players from mob "justice" simply due to an accusation.
