Why not just perma mute people rather than banning them

I don't understand why Riot doesn't just permanently mute or mute people for certain amount of time rather than fucking banning them or even tingling their balls a little by chat restricting them to /5 texts...Like wtf?

It would save so much time and money and also would prevent people from being toxic further while still maintaining their accounts.

They can even go as far as to ban them permanently and then very season review their account and see if they would be eligible for unmute...

Because it doesn't work. Riot used to allow indefinitely stacking chat restrictions, to the point of essentially being perma-mutes. All this did was force toxic players to find other ways to express their toxicity, such as inting and trolling.

Why don't you just learn from your first chat ban?

or your second chat ban?

##or your 2 week ban?

Because (while I'd love to support such a system) it's been proven ineffective most of the time & even if it was effective it'd still be against Riot's beliefs as to what players do and don't deserve to get to play the game (so in other words, a player who has to be perma-muted in the first place does not belong in their game - that's Riot's opinion as far as I'm aware).

I was like you about a year ago, not gonna lie. I'm here to talk if you wanna get it out but honestly things aren't gonna change unless you accept them for what they are & accept yourself for who you were and who you can be. There's no point in being toxic when it just makes things worse.

Aren't you the muh free speech guy? You're kind of a jerk, so your appeal right now seems sort of disingenuous and moot.

Simple. Not every ban is because of toxicity.

I see a lot of vast generalizations regarding why players are punished. Time to make a new thread.

That makes no sense. If they're permanently banned there's no criteria on which to judge eligibility

They tried perma-mutes a long time ago. It didn't work. People just resorted to other tactics (such as inting) in order to raise hell instead. So Riot decided to not bother wasting time and just go straight to banning instead.

All fun in games until some people ruin it for everyone else, I suppose.

I think this post is less of you actually caring how Riot decides to punish their players and more of you realizing that you've just lost another account for good, and it's probably taking it's toll on you. There is nothing to gain in the pride of multiple perma-banned accounts. That only makes you look stubborn and unwilling to change from an unhealthy lifestyle.

Usually, real life problems are the most common cause of unwarranted, arrogant and unwavering toxicity - it is transferred from reality to virtual as a form of releasing built up anger. So that being said, I do hope all is well in your personal life, and that is a genuine wish of mine.
