What is it about asking for people to report someone that makes other people report you?

Any time I get an AFK or a troll intentionally feeding or whatever, I feel like it's my responsibility to ask the other team to report that person. I'd say the VAST majority of the time, this results in multiple members of the opposite team reporting me for verbal abuse or whatever. I feel like I'm just not going to say anything anymore, but I don't get where this behavior comes from.

If the other team has an AFK I will always report that person.. why do people want to play with an AFKer or a troll in the future as opposed to someone actively trying to weed those people out?

One report is the same as 9. And farming reports like that is a reportable offense. So it does no good to get more reports and could technically get you punished.

Quantity of reports is irrelevant. It only takes one report to send the game to Riot, any additional reports do nothing. Asking for reports at best is just venting your frustration at the state of the game, but usually it's a form of harassment and manipulation towards that person. It doesn't belong in the game.

Because report should be personal decision, not influenced by anyone else. Everyone is given report option, so whats the point in asking others to do it?

You don't need more than 1 legit report to get someone in trouble.

I dont report because someone asked me to, unless i can clearly see the behavior they are talking about for myself.

Most the time when Y calls for the team to report X, X reacts in a negative manner and then goes into a "tilt"y state.

You can call it that a lot of people are very sensitive, as if they have a thicker skin, then they can just shrug it off. But most people don't take that negative comment against them very well. It's kidda like league's way of calling someone noob.

Of course, I see people tell the enemy team to report their team mates, and most the time I ask them what it is for. They either say "feeding" or "unskilled".

"unskilled" no longer exists, not that it did anything back in the days other than adjusting some match making elements.

Alot of people misunderstand "feeding" and "intentional feeding", which are very very different and most people don't seem to understand that.

If X were to say in /allchat to report a Y for toxic, and I can't read their chat, chances are I'm not reporting unless I see toxic stuff in /allchat. But that does give me slight grounds to monitor X, as if it is a common thing they are doing, they are on grounds of "starting" the negativity instead.

You can see all these threads complaining about them just trying to defend themselves. Which means there are always a bunch of others calling to first "report a team mate" or "calling them bad/noob". The cycle continues and both parties get banned.

Making sense?
