Is a vote-kick system being worked on?

League games need a vote-kick system. Non-connects, disconnects, afks, toxics RUIN the game for everyone. Collectively wasting between 60-160 minutes for the players involved. Ideas on function:

  1. Allow players to select a "Willing to join game in progress." option.
  2. When the player is placed in the game they receive an average of their teammates' gold and levels.

To prevent duo/triple/quad queue players from 'bullying' others, give their votes less value.

Blizzard implemented a vote-kick system for their battlegrounds years ago and it works great. Riot is behind the times.

So if someone falls behind and is willing to take one for the team, they can leave the match and have another player join in with more gold than the previous player who held the spot? Or if the player joins in with as much gold as the previous player who fell behind and in a position where there's not much they can do and on a champion they've never played before, they'll just lose LP as well as the other 5 people who were on the original team. While your proposal may have worked successfully for other games, I don't believe that this idea is viable for League of Legends.

Additionally, in a scenario where you can force someone from a match, you can be sure it'll be abused.

Champions

  1. Will the person be forced to play the champ that was selected by the person that left?
  2. Will the person that's joining get to choose their own champ?
  3. If they get to choose their own champ, how will it work? Will they see their team only and choose based in that? Will they see the enemy team as well and be able to hard counter someone?
  4. if they are forced into a specific champ, what if that champ is countered by the entire enemy team? What if they have next to no experience or skill with that champ?

The idea is interesting, but it has no way to make everyone happy.

The kicking thing, will be abused way too much.

The best way to non-abusively handle this is always have the surrender option available for disconnects longer than 3 minutes

Champs: Ranked they could be queueing for whatever role. Normals I duno, letting them come in as whatever they want is still better than a team being down a player.

'Gaming' the system with intenional leavers.. Leaving a game is already a punishable offense. So if someone is doing it intentionally to game the system, make the punishment worse to discourage it? I duno. It's not an impossible barrier to overcome.

I would be willing to see a quicker surrender option, as a stepping stone to a vote kick system. It's certainly not a fix-all though.
