SO that happened.... Harrassment

A couple of hours ago, started up a normal draft as support and when I get into lobby, the first thing said to me by the player filled for adc is "wait ur an egirl". I just rolled my eyes because this is normal, I get it a handful of times. Sometimes I hype it up and other times I deny it with jokes, just a bit of fun. However, this time I didn't answer to this. Instead I just locked the champ I wanted to play and the player, who picked Draven, started to flame me for picking Soraka because it was apparently going to be a passive lane. (FYI you CAN play Soraka aggressively, just depends on the lane) Get into game, Draven complains, saying "god help me, my team wtf" or something like that. Anyway, about 5 to 10 minutes into the game, against teemo and ezreal lol, we died a few times. He goes on to start saying some sexist comments, like "don't worry im better than your bf" or "that's what happens when they don't listen" (something along the lines of women not listening). Then he says something I think is pretty f'ed up "I bet this Soraka has a blackeye" basically insinuating that I get beat by my boyfriend, wtf.

Not only is this really messed up, my team said nothing and did nothing to stop him from his rude remarks. True, I didn't respond to his messages and tried to ignore him. If I had responded and asked him to stop, I'm pretty sure he would become even more aggressive with his messages. Anyway, I reported him and left a detailed message. I just hope that something is done, no one deserves to be talked to like that, man or woman.

what do you expect your team to do? they probably didnt care about your situation. solve your own problem by muting/ignoring.

I'm sorry you had to endure that. You handled the situation perfectly though and didn't respond and just reported him after the game.

Sorry that someone treated you that poorly in game. I know I'd definitely be offended if someone said that to me in game. It's awful that some guys think it's okay to treat and talk to women that way

I guess I'm just confused, as a fellow woman, how he knew you were a girl? Or is it just a lucky guess off of the Soraka pick??? Do other women radiate special internet hormones and I just suck? :c

Either way, sorry you had to deal with that. I would have likely just muted him; Draven seems to attract a lot of toxic players.

What's upsetting (atleast from my point of view) is that your teammates COULD have said something, but they'd have to worry about the IFS punishing them for Being Toxic towards that Draven.

In the end, you did the right thing by reporting him for his Actions. What he said was completely uncalled for & no one should have to deal with that.

I agree that this is an issue that riot refuses to deal with. it's like unless it's Ranked or a special game mode, they turn the report bot off. I've been called the N word and F word, and my wife has been called a C word and "why are you playing you stupid Bi***" to the point that she does not even play anymore, she was actually enjoying the game when we were leveling her up..

hell, I have a game on my twitch channel - FallenTurtle that has a person actively saying the N word in the game and then following up with "I don't care if this accounts banned, this is a scrub account anyway". I have pointed it out to riot, but it's like they look at it, and then ignore it because it happened in a normal..

Then again, if our president can say the things he says and not be impeached, guess riot thinks that type of speech against players is ok.

I see a lot of "Mute him immediately" talk here and, while yes that's a good idea for your psyche, a lot of people will do that and not see what the person had done and refuse to report them. Sometimes it's better to bite the bullet so you can log all of the negative things they said for a much meatier and accurate report so that they will actually get punished for it, instead of just leaving without a report or reporting them for negative because they were physically playing like a monkey.

But hey at least he didn't sit in base flashing and ulting on cooldown because you took a red ward from him. Draven players tilt for the stupidest reasons.

Vicious individuals will see the toleration of harassment toward women as a license to do it. Knowing that makes it no easier, but it may help to think of them as the dirt stuck between the treads of your shoe. May they be scraped off permanently by the IFS.

But, what do you expect out of your team? I would have muted him early, given that what he said was useless. Jumping into a flame war wouldn't have been a productive use of my time.

I feel the same way about any response I could give in text. So, I think that ignoring him was the correct in-game decision.

If you didn't respond to his jabs, I would make the assumption that you had also muted him.

My action would have been to report him post game. But, if at least one person does that, then the additional reports aren't useful.

Hey my dude how's it going? Sorry to hear about that, I hope the guy gets some sort of disciplinary action but he might not. As for your team there is a good chance they just muted him. I play off meta things(like urgot jg) and get flamed all the time for my picks, my game decisions, and all kinds of stuff.
I just mute all every game now, almost always people have nothing useful to say. Just mute the guy next time. Have a good one

its not their responsibility, for all you know they might have muted him to not endure all the cringe

Its understandable but you should have muted him if it bothered you so much. Its against the rules so if he makes an habit of that kind of behavior he will get punished

Someone once insisted I was a girl because they checked my match history and saw that I played almost all girl champs.

They proceeded to make a lot of sexual remarks while another all timidly asked me out.

Since I am in fact a guy, it was weird.

I got them to stop when he asked what time my legs open, and I made the two thirty joke my friend told me.

Yeah I've been through it too.

A recent one, I played Lux with the weaboo skin my friend bought me a while ago, this guy just starts... "OMG an egirl?!""Egirls are so bad!""Rip my team has an egirl we lose!" I've muted him, but he just starts freakin' inting. Oh hell no my team were not happy with this guy.

It's pretty rare but srsly stupid when you see it firsthand.

???? What did you expect your teammates to do? "Don't bother m'lady, Draven you swine!!!". They probably did the right thing which is to mute and play the game. We all get verbally abused in-game. We don't expect someone to heroicaly tell them to stop harassing us. We either mute and move on or fall in to the pit and talk shit back. Your thread is basically "someone was a jerk in-game". What is the point of this thread?

Now, your adc was trolling hard, but don't blame your team... they couldn't do anything. Not only would nothing they have said have made any difference(except possibly to make him troll MORE), but they may have had chat turned off, covered, or even just muted everyone at the start.

But that guy's an ass. Just report him and move on. All you can do.

My only complaint is that you didn't try.

That is why you should have at least tried. You can't get upset at your team when they behaved the exact same way you did.
