A toxic player should plead guilty for less punishment.

It has come to my mind lately that some people do regret being toxic. As human beings, we all experience outbursts of aggression and give in to our emotions that drive our actions to being non-player friendly. I feel that if a summoner knows that he/she will be reported for this, they should be able to report themselves so that if Riot does happen to punish said toxic player, they will receive a lesser punishment for acknowledging their actions did not follow the summoners code.

Edit 1: I understand this can be abused. However, if it was possible, riot should be able to see on average how toxic or not this player is. So if they report themselves while they usually never show toxicity, they should be given a warning or something along the lines. If it is overused though, they should be given harsher punishment or they cannot use their "get out of jail free card".

Edit 2: Racism and any forms of hate speech should have zero tolerance.

Edit 3: Verbal statements telling people to end their own lives should also have zero tolerance.

No. Absolutely not. Giving more leniency to an already perceivably lenient system is a bad idea. More than that...

This concept is too easy to abuse. What's to stop people - particularly the horrendously toxic folks - from just reporting themselves every single game to ensure they don't get their just punishment? What's the point in reforming when you can just muddy your punishment with a half-hearted "I'm sorry" at the end of the match?

If people truly did regret their actions and their breaking of the rules, they'd accept their punishment with dignity and work to improve themselves after it.

Seems reasonable to me, you have even included a way of dealing with players who abuse the system. You have my support.

Funny thing is: you regret it after the punishment happens. If it you never got punished, you wouldn't give two shits.

So spare me...

The system already have built-in leniency for those who are normally neutral or positive to have a few mild toxic games without seeing any punishment at all.

If you regret your bout of toxic, you apologize to your team and ask for their forgiveness (and hope they don't report you) instead of trying to weasel your way out of your toxicity with minimal effort (report yourself).

If the team won't forgive you for your toxicity (still report you anyway), then you man up and deal with the consequences of your action.

Maybe it they just say some stupid shit in chat like they you disgusting n*gger/reffuge or say kys, the maybe but if they just start inting, no. If it doesn't directly affect the game, then maybe it can work but if they are running it down mid, dusco nunu, blue Shen or 9/11 corki (the ghost clense troll builds) then no they should not have that. I do remember that they had that when I was new to the game in s5 where I didn't really say something but then it gave me a warning the next time I logged in.

Sure, but if Riot isn't consistent, we shouldn't be adding to an already extremely faulty system. We should be doing more to get rid of it.
