Does unsportsmanlike really need to be a report if unskilled was taken out?

Why is unsportsmanlike a report? It doesn't affect the game what so ever, if anything a little taunting makes me play better, to show them that it isn't "ez" or that i am better than they think i am. The results of "tilt" as people put it is on the player, it really doesn't affect the way the game is played. In my personal experience many times people that poke fun after a kill or a fail flash end up losing because the person that died or fail flashed wanted to show that it was just a mistake, a fluke, a one time event. I understand sometimes trash talk "hurts peoples feelings", but thats life you cannot do anything competitive without that happening.

I think people have a skewed view in league. Lets say you are at the park and get into a pick up game of basketball. (any team based sport) There is going to be trash talk but you wouldn't mind all that much because you only play one game maybe two so it seems like its not that bad. If you were to play basketball all day, just just game after game after game, with different people, the trash talk per game is the same amount of on average. Its about the same in league.

If "unskilled" isn't a report anymore"unsportsmanlike" shouldn't be a report either. These are the same thing, one is play and one is chat. Which one affects the game negatively more? Someone going 2/11 because they don't know what counter-picking is. Or someone saying, "lawl nice flash, gg ez".

Being bad the game isn't against the summoner's code; being an unsportsmanlike player is. Next.

It's not a matter of which affects the game more. Skill or lack there off is not a behavior and is already handled by matchmaking. When you are unskilled relative to your rank you will lose more and drop MMR. A one game sample size doesn't tell you much about a persons skill which is what those reports would be based on.

I'm not even sure the report unskilled even ever did anything. It definitely didn't punish people. A lot of people say it reduced MMR but I don't think I have ever seen that confirmed(would love a source if someone has one).

A little trash talk is fine. But if I were playing basketball and someone on my team was getting on me for every mistake, or a player on the other team was getting on me for every mistake, I'd leave. I don't really want to deal with that.

Tell me, what tactical advantage is there in saying "gg ez" at the end of the game?

Trash talk is designed to get your opponent to not think clearly so you have an easier time winning the game. As such, statements belittling the enemy team after the game is over are not trash talk, and neither are things you say against your allies.

You are using personal experiences as valid arguments. That makes space for alot of bias.

Not everyone is tilt proof. And some people just can't keep their tongues in their mouths.

If a teammate misses an engage and the result is negative for the team, constructive criticism or a tip with intention to help is a better way to deal with it than nagging him about it.

Because he might already tiltingg from that missplay, so why pour salt on that wound?

That is what toxic people don't understand. Its as if they actually enjoyed making people tilt.
