Lets talk about Tyler1

I am a consistent viewer of Tyler1 and his "Journey" to Challenger only playing the jungle role. I have noticed that his chat logs in-game are extremely horrible and highly bannable, constantly calling players "dogsh*t" and other verbal abuse words. I think everyone should follow the summoners code regardless of popularity. If I were to talk like this, I'd get banned instantly. Just came to mind.

You can get away with things for a little while if you are not using 0 tolerance and if it isnt for an extended amount of time per game for the chat logs. What he says on twitch is his own thing, thats a whole different issue there entirely.... but his chat logs in game (which is why im sure he is on some smurf accounts).... but he is probably a lot better than what he was.

My personal opinion about him though? He pretty much supports trolling, and the game would actually be better off without him and his roid raging, "im the best, if anyone beats me it was a fluke or my teams fault", loud mouthed gimmick that he puts on to draw the attention of trolls because they are the majority of his audience and if he leaves, they will follow, making league instantly so much better off.

Apparently this guy is above the law at this point. I mean in Twitch Rivals, he started raging, tried to solo a Baron. Dies, spawns, runs it down mid and dies 1v5. Then, he afk's in base and actually leaves the game for a solid minute or 2.

No one cares. He did this in a tournament, on stream, no one cares. He routinely rages in chat on his stream.

Oh well. I actually feel sorry for all the normal players still getting banned for this stuff.

boards mods here say that what happens on twitch cant be moderated by riot because it is a different platform to that i say... wtf lol what someone says in game on their stream is still something said in their game, which isn't a different platform. makes no sense, and riot expects the 30k+ players watching him to take their rules seriously. at this very moment he is talking about how his teammates must have been born mentally challenged + r%%%%%ed while calling them insects/useless/dogshit in game alongside spam pings and ff vote any chance he gets.

when he is winning a match it's totally different though and he seems to be on top of the world levels of happy. i think a lot of people can resonate with feeling like things are completely out of your control a lot of the time in league now but still.... i can only imagine how many people report his various accounts and nothing comes of it. Doesn't he also have 2 accounts that are partnered with all champs unlocked & stuff? I could be wrong there but he mentioned that this jg account was one of them the other day I think.

AAANyways I think T1 is very entertaining and sometimes even very enlightening for someone like me who hasnt reached Plat+ levels of play BUT I enjoy watching him the most when he isn't raging and spitting bile at his teammates when he is literally smurfing..

just wanted to throw in my downvote... Tyler 1's rage and character are part of what makes him entertaining to watch. If you want a politically correct stream, then stream yourself

The thing about streamers not getting punished has a few interesting reasons to it.

  1. At high ELO they pretty much know each other IRL 1.1. They know sometimes other people put on an act for the purpose of entertainment
  2. They tend to not report each other 2.1 maybe close they are buddies IRL 2.2 too busy interacting with their own stream or looking at stats 2.3 don't want to be seen as some snowflake by their stream
  3. They play 10-15 games a day, which "dilutes" their toxicity
  4. They can play on other accounts to spread out the toxicity
  5. They say it out loud instead, and Riot can't do anything about it.

So in summary, if we all played the same amount of games and got reported at the same rate, we can also stretch toxicity for longer periods without getting punished.

Streamer and popularity privilege? Riot themselves don't seem to care. Removing Tyler1's id ban was something they were forced to do because of some Riot employee who got snitched out on his personal comments on Tyler1. And now? He's too big. They can't do anything about it because it'd get out of control. Its like the whole 'gg ez' thing. You can't stop it or change it, just join them instead!

The thing about Tyler1 is that he types sarcastic stuff in chat with smilies. While actually verbally abusing IRL. They can't punish him if he isn't actually typing something 'Negative' in chat. Obviously, his teammates get the sarcasm and such. But they're also helpless about it. As for typing 'dogshit' etc. Probably, but like I said. Riot doesn't care or they maybe are too scared to touch his accounts anymore. [sg-miss-fortune]

He's been perma banned before for toxicity. Said he was "reformed". Ya..ok

You can say whatever you want as long as nobody reports you. One of his games his team was flaming him and he was flaming back and he got 4 honors at the end of the game.

Btw - this made me want to check out T1's stream. And here's what I saw after I posted my comment. This was T1 in a Gold 1 to Plat 4 promo. game. Unranked to Challenger!

While it is true that much of high elo chat is reportable.... You still need to be reported for it to trigger.

High ELO is mostly a small high rollers club with its own kind of culture. Theyll get punished if reported, but generally people dont report.

Tyler1's popularity proves Riot is wrong about the playerbase and "toxicity".

Players like "toxicity" they like banter, and trash talk. Its fun and entertaining.

NF Remilia1/31/2020, 8:03:39 AM1 votes

You still have to be reported in order for the system to punish you. Most of the player probably knows him and they wont report him , some will. He has probably 20 perma banned accounts for toxicity? So hes not avoiding the system. If he keep being toxic at in-game chat , he will get banned soon or later.
