Reporting alleged toxic behavior from other team.

I'm not sure if this has been answered anywhere, I took a quick look and didn't see anything.

What is Riot's stance on reporting players from the enemy team based on alleged harassment? I've always taken a hard stance on not reporting anything I didn't witness. If someone calls out for a player to be reported, how do I know they aren't the one harassing them, and are just trying to stack the odds even more against them? I've personally seen this happen on my team.

In a game I just played, I voiced this opinion and my own team started flaming me, even though they have nothing to do with the other teams issue. They said I was white knighting and took the stance to basically report them and let the system sort it out.

Could someone link me Riot's stance, or could someone give me some feedback on how you would like us to best handle this situation so the right people get the deserved punishments?

Correct, you don't know, which is why Riot's official stance (https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752884-Reporting-a-Player) specifically tells players NOT to ask for reports -

Do not ask other players in the match to report the offending player. It only takes one report for our systems to review a game. Additional reports will not do anything for the offending player; however as mentioned above, it could open yourself up to a report of your own; especially if you are derailing the match by constantly demanding reports of other players.

Best to keep the match on track and ignore the people asking for reports.

You're doing the right thing, keep doing what you're doing. Report what you witness, ignore the rest.

  1. Multiple reports does the same thing as 1 report

  2. False reports get thrown out

Combine those two, it wouldn't matter whether you report them or not. If they are getting reported by the accuser, then your extra report won't do anything.

If you report them and they didn't do anything wrong, then the report gets tossed out.

If they aren't toxic in all chat, you got no case.

I reprot people who ask for reports.

Hey there Imperial Pandaa,

SanguineDogma here with the Player Support Team, and it'd be my pleasure to help you out today!

This is a good question! Let's say that you're in game, and you don't all-chat at all. Now, let's also say that in that game, your teammates are being jerks, and they tell the enemy team to report you for being negative, even though you didn't say anything. Reports can only be issued on behavior that you saw, so if you didn't say anything negative, or display any negative behavior, and someone on the enemy team issues a report against you, there won't be any action taken from the system.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to let me know! I'm always here to help.
