Riot is of the mind, it seems, that arguing in games, calling each other names... will be resolved by chat bans, bans in general. If we just don't allow them to talk, that will resolve the frustration....ah.. right. Well I guess one way to stop shittalking is to literally mute it. However there is a fucking mute button for that.
Its literally the least of issues in this game. Yet they spend so much time on it. Hello?
They should be looking at, why are players getting this frustrated, on such a large scale? I'm not talking about slurs, those are just stupid in any use case- its the fucking internet, lol. No one should give half a shit what anyone else is saying about them. Most don't- so why are we tilting? People that never tilt normally, are tilting? I'm so chill, and I fucking tilt out of my mind.
If the average age is 26ish... this doesn't make any sense. We've all been through high school, its something else.
Its consistent, built up frustration over time, from poorly matched games. We're trying to have fun and someone is 'trolling'. However the MAIN issue isn't the troll itself, they could be trolling and not know it. The real issue is that they are playing bad for the elo they are at. Everyone seems to know they are trolling except them- which means they are actually trolling, or don't know it.
If they don't know they are trolling, its an elo problem. If you want to troll like that, riot should have you in the elo where that is normal play. Simple.
Players simply are in the ladder where they shouldn't be, on a large scale. Which creates game inbalance, which creates frustration. Players are tilting because we have a great game to play, but keep getting terrible games.
Everyone has blue balls, is pissed and lashing out. Everyone feels unheard and doesn't know what to do. We're helpless to fix the issues and feel like riot isn't addressing the actual problems that are CREATING a toxic environment.
Also keep in mind that just because people aren't saying something doesn't mean they aren't frustrated. However bad it SEEMS, it much worse, its just quiet. Players will facepalm and quit the game regardless.
Instead of thinking why the fuck is this guy so retarded, we should be thinking- how is this guy in my game. Either way though, this problem is 100% wasting everyones time and ruining our fun.
Close games are so much more fun.
Some of the most fun i've ever had in this game are those super close games that are on a razors edge, one mistake and you lose- everyone is doing their best. I have about... 1 in 30-40 games. No really, everything else is a stomp or struggling to overcome some feeder or trying to recover from a 4 man bot gank or something. There is enough frustration in this game already without bad matching.
Course they are also the most devastating when you lose. However, I'm far less frustrated when I lose a close game, that was fun... than losing a game that was lost at 10-15 minutes and wasn't even remotely close. Sure its fun to be on the goodside of a 30-8 romp... but not nearly as fun as a close game.
Anyways, riot needs to wakie wakie. Its getting old quick. In twitch they are starting to show up 4th after a bunch of games. People are losing interest. They're going to get shocked when they realize that when the game becomes unfun to play- the players no longer watch the lcs. They just move onto another game. Even as it is the only things I'll watch are games with my favorite player or a favorite team. Even that is meh when they aren't doing well.
Hell most of us probly just have it playing in the background while we do something else.
