Death Threats.

Today I experienced the most extreme thing ever, during my time as a League of Legends player. After a match one of my teammates who had been complaining about my gameplay all game added me. As the nice person I am I accepted the friend request and asked "What?" because I didn't know what he/she wanted.

He/she answered "Where are you from?" and I hold him/her that it's not concerning them.

Instead of dropping the conversation he told me "I'm going to track your IP and I'm going to murder you and your family." Later on he even said he would send his "%%%%%s" to murder me after they raped all my family members. They would murder me afterwards by cutting/pulling off my limbs piece by piece. Very EXTREME threats.

This shocked me as this is the first time I've had an online death threat thrown at me, over a GAME. Even if this is all a "joke" or a way to try and scare people I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's been threatened in this or any similar way. This should be taken way more serious than some people may think, after all it's a THREAT, and threatening people is illegal in most countries.

Also since this is League of Legends of course some people will say, "This is league, what do you expect?" Well I can tell you that there is plenty of polite players out there and that taking threats like this more serious is better for the entire player base.

That would make the community so much better in every way. I'd rather play with a 0/16 Shyvana Zoe Yasuo Twitch Soraka or any other champion, than with a 22/3 toxic player.

Playing games is supposed to be fun.

This is already way too far. Riot Games should do something about it, and that is fast. To show that things like this is not okay at any rate.

If you can get Screenshots of that PM, be sure to attach it to a support ticket. That behavior is completely unacceptable & uncalled for, especially over a VIDEO GAME.

In the future, I'd advise not accepting friend requests from players that complain about how you play as they're probably one of these kinds of people. If they spam request you (they usually do if you decline them), block them so they can no longer friend request you or invite you to their games.

Honestly, the chance of something happening is slim to none. Is it bad? Yes. Did you report them with a ticket? If not you can submit one directly through support.

This post is a waste of time though. There really is no need to call to action even if you're shocked and experience this rarely.

Be honest with yourself: You should've blocked the person as soon as they started typing a negative storm and filed your ticket then. I'm sorry this impacted you so heavily but really just move on and learn from the experience. You got trolled fam. Don't feed em further :P

i dont think people realize telling someone to kill themselves is not a "threat". it would be a threat if they said "im going to kill you". telling someone to kill themselves alone is not a "threat"

9/10 times when some edgelord tells you they're going to track your IP to find out where you live and kill you, they're just bluffing and trying to scare you.

Being honest rito games should call the cops. this shit is fucked up someone had the cops sent to there house due to saying a school shooter joke saying something of this extreme should DEFINITELY warrant the cops

Basically unless it's in game or happens to multiple different people they told me they can't do anything. I even had a screenshot of someone telling me and my friend to kill ourselves, but it wasn't in game. Someone we played with invited us to a lobby and him and his friend started cursing at us ect. Yeah, the system kind of sucks, but they don't really care that much. They just want to make their effort seem noticeable (See how much we care? We made an automated bot that gives chat restrictions for cursing! (it evens catches words with letters replaced!!))

Did it for the memes. Didn't actually threaten anybody, especially over a game.

But yes, i have been threatened countless times, it is no big deal (For me at least).
