Do people even know what toxic means anymore?

At this point, I feel like anything you do is toxic

"Can you gank?"

"REPORTED FOR BEING TOXIC"

"Can I get some help mid?"

"TOXIC REPORTED"

I feel like this community has no idea what half the words they use mean. That, and the mods seem to use it as well, without actuall grasping what it fully means. I've seen mods look at things like "Maybe if you weren't trash going 2-17 initial feeding, maybe we would have won" and saying that's toxic. It's really not toxic, at all.

Even things like constructive criticism is toxic, and mods even accept it as toxic. "Look, when you play XXX champion, you need to know that XXX can save your life" "SHUT UP STOP TELLING ME HOW TO PLAY YOU'RE TOXIC AS FUCK SHUT UP" >Mod then nods and says yes you're toxic

Honestly, this community really needs to stop using this buzzword until they fully understand what it means.

literally anything negative you say toward someone is 'toxic" "you salty" league community is a bunch of teenagers enabled by a bunch of moderators. The league suggestion is to basically never speak because if you do. You're "toxic" if you dont...Youre still toxic for not communicating. Mass pinging missing laner? toxic. not ganking for a 0-*** w/e losing top laner. toxic. Banning the "support teemo" pick? toxic. Asking support to get ss? toxic. Asking mid to stop feeding. toxic. wondering wtf we still even bother playing league? prob toxic.

Agreed. You see it on the PB&M board too often too, people will call someone "toxic" when the chat is really just negative or pessimistic. While some language certainly is deserving the toxic label, too frequently I feel people use "toxic" because there's nothing catchy to describe language that's less than that.

As for in-game, the only time I see people call others "toxic" for no reason is when they're already tilted off the face of the Earth.

This is unhelpful, inflammatory, and pointless to say in chat. it is just as easy to say, "we had trouble winning because the enemy got fed." This doesn't require you to single anybody out.

Singling players out is never a good idea because it will just inflame the situation more and cause more arguing. That is why Riot considers it toxic.

well i honestly agree, anything in league community that offend other players, and they will report you for toxicity. which in general anything you type people can easily get offend by. they do not know how to use the mute button. doesn't mean i support toxicity, however 99% of the league community consider typing is toxic. unless you kiss there're asses when they go 0-10.

Fun trivia aside, you are right that people are so easily triggered, but that is not the game's fault it is this whole ERA of sheltered protected people where each has a good nice corner for the subgroup he belongs and is rarely getting out of his rabbit-hole to experience other people/environment/behaviours ...

it is a sad truth, but at least on that Riot cannot do a thing...

I agree , l was playing Ahri today , and I told and the toplaner died 3 times in 7 minutes in a ranked match , and I said please play safe under tower untill we gank you , and he was like " STFU YOU NOOB" and then to All Chat , " PLEASE REPORT THIS F***** AHRI TOXIC " and guess what ? yeah it was a Yasuo main

I think you're assuming its the play calls that get you banned or reported; its not lol

First off you could receive a report every single game you play, but if you're not actually flaming, selling your items for troll shit and running it down mid, NOTHING will happen to your account

What people usually get reported for is the bs that accompanies "Can I get help mid?". Not saying this was you but what happens next is a mixture of "ff", "but you didn't come when I asked", "yeah but X player won't group" "useless" "how can you say that when you never gank lol bad jg" etc

Not anything really offensive right? Well serious insults only have the difference of they get you punished faster That's it. If you're being passive-aggressive, griefing, begging for surrenders, or just talking about how bad the plays are you're overall being negative and not using the chat for its true purpose. The misuses are clearly outlined in the TOS and Summoner Code.

This is by no means a personal attack on you. I only go around making similar posts to enlighten the community as to what the true intent of chat is and why "Mediocre" insults are getting hammered.

Its pretty simpled. You're not going to win every game, and even in the ones you win, you're probably not going to win early every game. In fact, some games you're going to get stomped and it will def be an uphill battle. This is frustrating.] Logically speaking however, comebacks are far far more effective if the team isn't wasting time typing about bad plays, typing about how fed the enemy is, calling out certain players directly or indirectly for their mistakes, or tilting and not giving it your 100% when you're behind.

Riot's chat policy was the easiest to strengthen enforcement in, but I don't think the PR released with the punishment system adequately explained that they aren't targeting the most extreme of chat misuses; they're targeting all players who don't use chat for gameplay and keeping up morale. Also, they didn't make clear that your allies being the worst of the worst ethically doesn't excuse you to any level of raging or responding with your own negativity. You will be punished just like the person running it down mid telling you all "%%%"

The end goal is a fun game thats competitive, but people respect each other

Thank you! but unfortunately most of the good players r perma bannned now including me coz in plat-diamond elo not getting ganked when my lane is pushed 24/7 in 15 mins and my jg is 0/4/0 means only one thing..that he sucks and when you tell him r u ganking today either he reports you or tell you kys or say muted or 3 of them and in the end you will lose lane and when you jg sucks jg will say reported and mid will say top you r 0 ill rep you and jg and same goes for bot and then you get reported and you get perma ban...what a happy ending

Was playing botlane. Had a Zed vs... an Akali mid I think. She roamed bot. A lot.

I said, word for word, 'Can you either hardpush mid or follow Akali when she roams? She's wrecking us'

And he called me bossy and rude and muted me right there. 'Constructive criticism' being considered toxic is so true.
