Idea: can we have a report option for refusing to learn/ take advice?

Just had this thought after a game where I had a pantheon top versus The donger, and our panth would NOT stay in lane ever, continually blamed it on lack of jungle help etc, so he roamed mid and bot and let heimer have a free lane. Obviously I cant get mad at somebody for not knowing how to play panth into heimer or playing the game badly, so I tried to give him some advice without being toxic.

I tried to explain laning phase, how its more important to farm under turret rather than roam and let your enemy free farm and get first turret, I explained that every 2-5 waves is = ~1 champ kill, etc. He proceeded to accuse me of being toxic and muted me. However I think I know the root cause of players being toxic, and the frustration with the league community, is that NOBODY WANTS TO LEARN FROM OTHERS.

Any hint of negative feedback or criticism hurts these people in their pitiful egos that RIOT has created due to riot saying "toxic behavior is bad, but you can be shit at the game and you wont be punished."

Now to an extent thats a good mantra, toxicty wont help anyone be better, and it sucks, and you cant report somebody just for having a bad game... BUT I HAVE AN IDEA TO PROPOSE

What if there was an added report option, where you could report players for refusing to learn/refusing to try and get better at the game/ knowingly continuing to play badly even with being provided knowledge and practice? The punishments would depend on what game mode they are in when reported for this

Bot games: no punishment needed just some in client popup warnings with links to tips and tricks Normal blind pick games (all Q's): warning followed up by a temporary pvp restriction (they can still play RGM or bot games though) followed up by a intermediate bot game win requirement before returning to PVP if the first two dont work. Draft picks and ARAM game modes: Warning>PVP block>restricted to blind pick>restricted to bots> win requirement Ranked Q's: Warning>Ranked restriction until you win a certain number of games in draft pick for the related Q(or blind for TT)> Warning #2 warning that you face a ranked ban (similar to game bans, but only restricting access from ranked) > 7day ban>14 day ban (of the ranked Q only) > IF the problem still persists total game bans could be an option.

This would add the notion that riot does want players to get better, and will punish those who refuse to get better because in the end they make the game worse just as much as toxic people do!

Think of it this way: Riot restricts Access to ranked until youre level 30 which mean they clearly dont want inexperienced players ruining ranked, the same goes for PVP (you must be level 5) So adding this option to punish those who refuse to learn gives ease of mind to players who take the game seriously, and lets players know they have to try and improve and take advice and not just blow it off if somebody wants to help!

NOTES: this would have NO EFFECT on honor progress, level or rewards.* NO EFFECT on eligibility to earn end of season rewards or not* WOULD TAKE ALOT of reports to trigger the system (so not just one game of refusing help will punish you) unless you get the total game bans

Isn't that what the MMR is for? To adjust who each person is matched with/against so that they are among their own skill level based on their average performance.

If they consistently fail to follow good advice and play poorly they lose more often. They lose more often they'll be faced with/against worse players.

Would rather have option to report people that give advice without being asked for one.

Advice is exactly that, an advice. You give it to a player and they decide whether to listen or not. No one in this game is obligated to listen to advices. Players are free to decide if they agree with them or not.

What you propose, is that anyone who just says "I know I am right, because I said so", to be able to legitimately report someone who would answer to them "nuh, I like the way I do it better".

No.

Me: "Build tear on Rengar"

My rationally thinking teammate: "No?"

Me: "HOW DARE YOU NOT TAKE MY ADVICE REPORTED"

See how this concept is more flawed than humankind?

i think this may be the dumbest idea i read this morning.

a report option for people who refuse to be bossed around by edgelords.

As mentioned by quite a few people, and Riot has refused to comment on the matter.

1: You are not obligated to participate in the game. 2: You are not obligated to participate as a team. 3: You are more than welcome to leave the game, thus punishing yourself, if you aren't enjoying your experience. 4: You are entitled to continue playing in the match, as long as you avoid afk detection. 5: As long as you are not verbally toxic, in ANY WAY, SHAPE, or FORM, you're about as good as gold my friend. After all, verbal toxicity is worse than physical toxicity. (Once again, proven by Riot)

So if you are in a match where you feel your teammates are playing like shit (relatively decent minority of matches), all you have to do is say hey, well if you aren't going to participate in the game, well neither am I. And all you have to do at that point, is don't talk to anyone, avoid the afk detection (just periodically move your champion around, or go to a lane and farm, farm in the jungle) If there is a team fight detrimental to the outcome of the match, heed no attention to it.

And if they ask what you're doing, you tell them riots rules are you are not obligated to participate in the game, and if they have a problem with that, that they can see if riot will address that issue. :S
