Do reports have more value than we think?

I saw a statement where Riot said, there is more behind our Honor rank than just the Honors we get. Now i am wondering, if reports decrease ur honor progress?

Furthermore there are several statements, that 1 report is enough to trigger a review. But coult it be possible, that that several reports still have an influence in terms of the toxic value, which the system counts with later on?

Reports are besides honors the only human influenced input in an otherwise automatic system. Actually it would make totally sence, if Riot uses the reports and the amount of reports per game in larger degree than we think.

When people receive valid reports, that aren't enough to trigger a penalty, it still affects their progression through the honor system. This is often times what creates the perception for honor 0 players that it takes forever to climb. They think that just because they are getting honored and not penalized, it must mean they are progressing. This is not so.

Yes, valid reports slow your honor growth.

No, additional reports after the first don't do anything.

I've done this before. Let me post the ACTUAL line of code:

if (reportCount > 0) { ... }

It's line 57 of this particular class. I wrote it.

Well yeah you may be the 1 and only 1 person who had been annoyed enough to report a player and if the player deserves some punishment, they will be monitored. If that player makes repeated offences, they will get punished and you'll see that sometime down the road (as in 2 or 4 matches after you reported) with the the thank you notice.

Punishments aren't handed out immediately but more like ASAP. One lone game isn't enough to justify whether or not a player is wholeheartedly spiteful and twisted. It takes multiple reports from multiple games. So generally, the more toxic the player is, the more likely multiple players will report in a single match. The more reports on that player on average per match should trigger the review process or send Riot some kind of red flag to know that this player is making repeated offences in which Riot will pass judgement on the player's account.
